I just purchased my first Corvette and I am loving it. All except for that it does not have NPP exhaust. My question is if I purchase a new exhaust with NPP is the 2018 Corvette prewired for NPP exhaust?
I replaced the stock exhaust with the Corsa Xtreme and couldn't be happier. I had the NPP exhaust on a previous Corvette and much prefer the Corsa...great exhaust sound and zero drone.
My Z06 was equipped w/NPP. I swapped out the exhaust with the Corsa Extreme (non-variable sound version) and their X-pipe, and never looked back. You can easily control the volume with the pedal.
I purchased an NPP exhaust from a forum member and 2.5" electric cut outs. I had my muffler shop remove original valves and install cutouts. Now I can open and close valves from a remote or my home link. This cost me less than $475.00 done. These look and work great.
My man, sorry to hear about the GS not working out. I know that you are new to the forum so just to be clear theIr are (2) levels /Types of exhaust Standard and Dual Mode or NPP ( RPO order code). The Regular exhaust comes standard but the GS and Z51 package it comes as part of those packages.
When it comes to aftermarket they all have their own sounds as was earlier referred to and you can hear them at the respective manufacturers websites. It is personal preference. If you have the NPP dual mode you can now get after market systems that retain that dual mode capability, otherwise you will lose that capability if you opt for a single mode exhaust.
You can also have an “X” pipe installed ( they have been now deemed to be used as “off road” and are not as prevalent but you can still find them for sale). This pipe replaces an existing OEM pipe that has a secondary set of C.Convertors (which creates more flow) and combines and distributes exhaust gases more efficiently and as a residual is louder, which makes anything you bolt on, including standard mufflers ...louder..
Hope this helps

Everyone has different tastes. I have the NPP system in my car and love it. Sounds great when fully open and has saved me the expense of having to purchase an aftermarket system for the car.
I’m sure there is a great aftermarket system out there that would be more to your liking. Corsa and Borka are two popular systems to consider.
Here's an aftermarket system that offers the dual-mode ability to control the sound like the NPP does. It is vacuum operated rather then electronic like the NPP, but allows you to control the sound level from loud to normal.https://www.corvettepartsandaccessor...ingray-non-npp

I bought a set of npp mufflers and installed them along with the akrapovic npp controller. Everything is plug and play if you get a used set of npp mufflers that include the actuators also. Works just like factory on my 2015. The controller is around 550 and I got the mufflers locally on Craigslist for 250 including the npp valve actuators. The hardest part is removing the rear valence otherwise it is just unbolt one muffler and bolt in the other. The akrapovic controller is a can bus sniffer that goes in the rear electronics compartment. The software is already in the car you just need the harness to get it the rest of the way to the actuators. Look up under you car to see if you have afm valves installed forward of the mufflers, if you do then you need to buy a npp exhaust that has them also or cut off and weld in your valves. Install instructions are on the akrapovic website.
I installed my NPP with a cut out 2.5 flat cut out. Cost $99.00 on ebay and paid $225.00 for c7 exhaust. I had my muffler guy cut and install the cut out $140. Now I use my Home link or remote to open a little or a lot as needed. Much cheaper then a $1600 after market exhaust. I think it sounds Great.

Oh I don't think so, it's there for a reason....choice.
I achieved the perfect sound to my satisfaction by pulling the fuse for the NPP valves (keeps them open all the time), installed a Borla X-pipe, and a Range AFM disabler. Very happy with that setup.

Im looking to do the same thing, could you send me some exhaust clips?
When I purchased my 15' vert it did not have NNP. I purchased a Corsa Sport muffler system from Chip at CCA and I am extremely satisfied with the sound, Zero Drone.

Really? Almost everyone here wants the NPP sound and functionality.
I can't think of a downside to the system unless you don't like the look of the four chrome trumpets or its not loud enough.
In 2014 I bought a C6 GS with stock non-NPP exhaust. Immediately installed a Corsa Sport system with X pipe. Loved it. Got many compliments on the sound. In January I took delivery of a 19 GS with NPP. Learned I could select my own exhaust tone, and pull the fuse to keep the valves open all the time. Thought I'd give it a try and hopefully save some money. Well, the NPP is coming off, and a Corsa Extreme system with X pipe is going on.
