Default Side marker light install

Hello,
I just received my blacked out side marker lights. All of the videos I have seen show the install on a non Grand Sport,Z 06 etc vehicle . I have spats on my Grand Sport, do they have to be partially removed to slide the panel out to change out the marker lights ?
Thank you,
Rich

Did mine yesterday. Just remove the three screws in the wheel well and the one bolt in the corner behind the front splitter and you will see it's pretty easy all in all.

Thanks Randy,
I did not look at the car as yet, just saw the videos and I saw 2 that just showed stingray apps.
Thanks,
Rich

I have carbon fiber spats installed that are a pain to remove and reinstall each time I need to change the lights. So I found that there's a hole you can access the back of the lights through if you put the car on a lift. It's a pain to get your hand to reach all the way there but it can be done on a lift or quick jack.

Yes, I changed out my spats and splitter too. I will have to check this out later.

A very helpful bit of information. I have aero 3 installed and front installation is a challenge. My forearm is too big to reach more than the bottom clip through these holes, but this was easier than trying to reach the bottom clip through the top.

The bottom clip (and I think there's a middle clip) can be reached. If you don't care about the light you're removing, the top clip (on the light side) can be broken even from the outside when removing it by pulling hard without breaking the car's side of it (so it'll still clip in a new one without issue). I've taken to doing this when I replace the light without taking the whole front side spat off.

Remove the torx screws inside the front of the wheel well on the spats. Then remove the 7mm bolt under the spat. Then remove the 2 torx screws that hold the stage 2 end piece. After that, pull on the front bumper from inside the wheel well. The front bumper has a couple clips that will pop loose. Then you can reach in and push the 3 tabs on the side marker and it will pop right out. Then push the bumper clips back in. They will pop right back into place with little effort. Then just put all the screws back in. It takes less than 10 mins to get the marker out. Its easy.

Thank you, and thank you all! I installed the new splitter and spats last year.
I will be getting to this in a couple of days.

Yes, pull the plastic back from the bumper and you can reach your hand in there and squeeze the 3 clips. It’s easier to pop the fender out and pull the plastic liner back at the same time

I admit this occurred to me, but I reached through the top to get the top and middle clips after taking the three Torx bolts out of the wheel well liner. The multi-pronged attack did the job for me.

It is amzing how much grit and little pebbles get stuck between the various panels, etc.

I did not do that on mine and had no problem with accessing the light. I only removed the 3 wheel liner screws and the 7mm bolt at bottom.

Yes,I already found that out when I changed the front splitter and spats last year, sand and pea stone everywhere. In my case even more so. I live on a farm where to reach the tared back roads I have to travel down a 1/4 mile dirt (sand and stone) road. Its even more fun when I used to ride my motorcycles
Thank you.

I also inly removed the wheel liner fittings. Removing the stage 3 pieces as connected to Protekt skid plates is a big bother.
