I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. I wanted to see if anybody has been in a similar situation and if they have any input or guidance. Looking into buying a C6. I've seen some nice base ones for around $23k with under 60k miles/ $$20k or under with around 80k miles or higher and some gs's for around $26-27k with 60k miles or higher. I barely drive my current car ( bought a 2004 Saab 9-3 with 57k miles and put 6k miles on it in a total of 2 years) but want to get myself something that I would enjoy driving when I get in the seat. Saab would become a winter/rain car. I guess my question is - should I be getting a Vette with lower miles or save money and get one with higher miles ( assuming its in good condition, well maintained etc.. ) since I don't drive as much and will be parking it on the street like the Saab. Also when a c6 gs is $26 or $27k is it not worth adding another $3k and getting the 2014 c7 base with 70k - 80k miles for $29 -30k?
If you can afford a C7...get that. If not a C6 is nothing to sneeze at. Both are great cars regardless of which model you get. I had a C6 for 10 years and the C7 for 3 years.
Don't know why its not letting me reply so im going to try a quick reply. I plan on also keeping the C6 or C7 for 9 plus years. I see C7's starting at $34k with 50k miles and under. Do you think if I wait till winter, I can find one for under $30k? With summer coming up will corvette prices increase?
C6, better "cruiser", C7, better sports car; C6 just feels bigger and less responsive, C7 smaller and more lithe, tough call. If you can afford the higher potential maintenance with a higher mileage C7, go for it. But, with the C6 it may have not only lower mileage but more options.....you'll feel good either way.
Concurring with the above. I upgraded (prejudicial term on purpose) from a C6 to a C7 16 months ago and am happy with my decision every single day...
Only caveat is affordability. I was fortunate to be able to spend a the necessary bucks to get a C7 with low miles AND 4 years left on the extended warranty. Choosing between a near-perfect C6 and a high-miles C7 for a few grand more might have given me pause.
I loved my C6 but the C7 is a better car and looks better. If you wait a while, I suspect that all used car prices are going to drop as this financial crisis worsens. And people find it hard to sell their C7 because they need to for the money to survive.

If you have never driven/owned Corvettes in the past, then you will be very happy with a low mile C6 and pocket the cash it would have spent on the C7. BUT NEVER, NEVER drive a C7 after buying a C6, you will regret it for as long as you own the C6! Like many others here, I too have owned several gens of Vettes; the C6 is a great car, the best that GM had built to date but the C7 is far and away a much better platform. I have no doubt that I will feel the same about the C8 Vs C7 as soon as I spend some time behind the wheel of a new one.

I agree, the C7 is amazing.
Putting the top down as you are walking to the car, never gets old!
