Default USB ports

Maybe it's just me but I have not driven the Corvette at night much or even in daytime, no excuses it's my fault.
So the other day I take a trip and I brought a flashdrive with some music on it, Ok I select the secret door and plug in the flashdrive
and enjoy some music. So now my cell phone is in need of recharging and so I have 2 what I call cigar lighter plugs I can use if I have the round adapter, which was in the car but not this trip or I had the normal usb adapter so I have to remove my music flashdrive stick to charge my Phone??????? Wait a minute I spend 60,000$ and I have a mickey mouse setup like this. One usb adapter and the Chevy engineers
like to use the cigar lighter adapters?????? You got to be kidding me.

So on the return trip I need to charge my battery again so yep I got to use the flashdrive usb prot to do it. Now I want my phone for easy access so I can't close the secret door because of the cord is attached so now night driving I'm fighting this glare of the light in the secret
compartment cause I cannot close the door because I got 2 useless cigar outlets instead of 3 more usb outlets?????

Please tell me this is a dream and I'm crazy or I must be missing something. WHo thought up this stuff...Please explain I got to be missing
something?

Crazy in PA

How about the 2 USB ports in the center console? Note that the Corvette USB ports only provide 0.5 amps - they will charge a smart phone very slowly. If the phone is running power hungry apps like gps the phone may not charge at all.

The console lid also has a space on the same side as the cup holder for you to route the cable so the console lid stays closed. I have my phone mounted on a magnetic clip which is wedged onto the 12V plug. The cable ends up running along side of the cup holders so both cup holders are accessible. Since I barely touch the fan speed, I'm fine with the phone blocking the view of it.

it is better to get a cig lighter USB charger like this... This one will charge at 2.4 amps per USB and has a voltage display..

Another thing most people do not know is you can add a 1 x 4 USB widget and now your “secret compartment “ can handle not one but 4 USB sticks. Once they index on start up ( map the contents and location of the music on the drives) All of them will show up in your DIC as sources to be browsed , The phone needs to be plugged into the console brother ...that is the best location for it

Or you could plug four more widgets into the one and have a secret super bank of USBs.

Aukey makes 2 kinds which are flush in the cig plug. Their 2 port one is 2.4a, while they sell a 1 port 3a one.

And a charging meter, changing color LEDs, etc. A wonderfully silly gadget. I now want one even though I will not use it.

Uh....ok, it’s time for an adult swim... Not sure what the limit is but there is one , you cannot keep adding devices as there is not an endless supply of voltage and every tine you split you reduce the 5v that you start with.Fortunately they are SSD so there are no moving parts to suck voltage
I have (3) 64g sticks and a 16g with tons of room on all left over.
I have been doing this since 2014, 2 C7’s ago and know it works...so I am sharing

Where are you going to require 180gb of music? Even at 320kb, 64gb will have enough minutes of music to go cross continent 10x over... I've driven from ny to cali in about 36 hours and 64gb is ~8000songs at avg 3 mins gives you 400hours of music.

For me, that would be when I want to access anything from my music collection instantly in my car.

I have 3LZ and Apple Car play so I plug my iPhone into the center console USB port and go from there using the head unit/steering wheel controls. I never have used the USB port behind the screen but I like the idea of having one there if I need to charge a second device. I also added the twin USB port where the lighter/outlet is and I only use that device when passengers want to charge their phones while in the car.
