Hey, is the triple flush still a thing? I have a 2016 z51, and it shutters at idle...not always but sometimes hitting the throttle makes it go away for a little bit but yeah..
At idle? You mean sitting still and the car shakes?
If so, that's normal. It has a "lopey" idle.
If it shudders while driving, that's the transmission. And yes, the TSB calls for a triple flush. Had mine done two weeks ago under warranty. 25 quarts of fluid on the invoice.
My girlfriend has a 2019 Stingray (non-Z51) with the 8spd automatic. The build date was either January or February of 2019.........so I don't know if that was AFTER the problem fluid was used. I bought her a Range AFM device right after she bought the car, so maybe that helps.
My 2017 Stingray has the 7spd manual, so it is not an issue for my car.
This topic is interesting AND scary at the same time.

I believe GM switched over to the new oil sometime in Feb 2019. My vehicle build date was Nov 1, 2018 so I went ahead and had the fluid switched and flushed 3 times (under TSB). I did noticed that shifting between 1st and 2nd became smoother, less notchy. The transmission seemed overall to perform with smoother shifts. Never had any issue with the shudder problem. I just told the dealer about the notchiness in 1 and 2. I have always used the Range AFM disabler and do recommend its use.
I had the Triple Flush done today 5/27/2020 on my 17 GS. I didn’t have symptoms of shudder but just wanted this done as a precaution. I called dealer ahead of making appointment and explained I wanted done under BTB Warranty’as a precaution and sent copy of update ( Aug 2019 ) 18 NA 355 Service Bulletin shows that it should be done upon customer request. They did the Triple Flush with new fluid GM part # 19417577 - Mobil 1 LV ATF HP Service Writer write on order “ possible shudder customer request Triple Flush. I will still be using my Range Device to help keeping out of V4.

I had 2 triple flushes done last year. Eve after the 2nd the shudder was still there although not as bad. The dealer said no to a 3rd flush so I did a drain and fill of the tranny only, put in an additive and the shudder was greatly reduced but still present. I finally decided to live with it and got so accustomed to it that when it stopped altogether I didn't even realize it. I am now shudder free.

The old fluid was hygroscopic (like your brake fluid is). The new fluid does not retain as much moisture. This is why GM issued out that particular TSB (according to them).
I purchased my C7 a little over a month ago, 3400 miles and I've read a few post over the shudder noise with the A8. I've noticed with mine in drive, around 50 mph's I hear what sounds like a chattering noise, but when I pull it down into manual the sound is gone, is that the trans shudder I'm hearing?

You're likely feeling it go from v4 to v8. Regardless, if your car was build pre Feb 1 2019, you should go in and tell your dealership you feel a shudder to get the new fluid
Please forgive my stupid question but what is a triple flush?
Pretty much what it says. They drain & fill the auto trans 3 times. They do this as there is no direct means to expel all the fluid from the trans torque converter. By replacing the fluid 3 times, the dirty fluid in the torque convertor is eventually expelled resulting in a 100% exchange of the transmission fluid.
