I have a 2019 Convt., 17,000 miles, all of a sudden when you push on the button to lock the doors the red light comes on but the sound of the door locking has gone away. Everything works like it usually does, but no "clunk" on either front door. Dealer says this is not a problem...., have owned a 96, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2018 and now this 2019 and they all clunked when I pushed the lock button, neither door makes the noise anymore. I just wonder if a part has failed. This current dealer
has been difficult with any problems due to my buying this one from a different dealer. Anyone else having this situation?
Most common explanation is that the battery in your fob is dead/dying.
Sometimes a weak car battery can cause similar problems.
If that's not it, trying locking the car with your fob lock button, put the fob far away or in a metal box, then go back and try to open the door.
That should tell you if it is really locking.
Best to disable passive locking and unlocking before this experiment.
Try opening the gas filler door and observe if the locking bolt at the rear edge is extending and retracting. The noisy actuator is in front of the left rear tire. Maybe it quit.
This thread has info on the fuel filler door locking mechanism:
