Recently purchased a beautiful C7 and needed a nice install for Valentine One detector. I have a mirror mount but can't stand having detector hanging which obstructs my view and looks crappy. I came up with an idea while connecting hot wire to mirror mount. V1 detector comes with a nice sun visor mount. C7 has a large opening on plastic covering in front of mirror. Visor mounts fits in this hole without modifying anything. Only problem detector is slightly obstructed by mirror for rear view of radar and a little more difficult to view. I will probably modify mount for a lower profile but not as low as those mirror mounts. I'm always open to ideas, criticism, you name it. I'm old and have thick skin. BTW I go by Viperguy since I used to own Vipers. However, I also loved Corvettes too. I used spacer to level detector Detector is bare
I agree about placement. V1 needs to be lowered just below mirror. About a year ago this V1 was updated with new programming to drop false alerts from cars with distance sensors. Still works well.

Yeah, but the new V1 is miles ahead of Gen 1 and everything else.
Pretty sure that is covering up your PDR camera, but if you don't use the PDR who cares - right? Also, I have a V1 w/BlendMount and it doesn't obstruct my vision, hits front and rear radar, and looks fine IMO.
I put mine just to the left of the mirror using the windshield suction cup mount.. It's not in the way of the sunvisor. Anything below the mirror obstructs the view.
I don't think my 2014 has a PDR camera. If fact, I have not figured out how to work PDR yet. It's my understanding V1 has a Bluetooth accessory which enable GPS form phone to mute electric doors etc. Cost about $50. The new V1 has this built in unit.
I have a Radenso laying on a silicone pad on top of my dash. It has picked up laser and radar. Mine doesn’t tell me where it is but I get plenty of warning. No matter how hard I Stop, start, or turn the detector doesn’t move. It’s the first detector I’ve had with GPS and I love that feature. Radenso has a model with directional arrows and will soon have a very high end and high priced AI unit. For now I’m very happy with what I have.
OP-
We have the Valentine "concealed display", which isn't really concealed but less conspicuous. Mounted on top of the steering column with 3M tape, nicely in my view.
That also causes the lights on the Valentine itself to go black except during startup, so nobody sees them.
Be sure the display doesn't hit the dash when adjusting your steering wheel up/forward.
My understanding is that the new Valentine requires a different display, not available yet.
(We had the AS tires on the car when this pic was taken, so being "frozen" makes no difference. Outside temp was -12'F.
