Hey guys I have a question for you. I have a 2019 Z06 M7 and during up shifts it's not going in to gear smoothly. It doesn't grind the gears but it does feel like it's catching them a little bit. It makes shifting feel clunky. I've read other post about the M7 not always going fully in to gear and that there is an adjustment that can be made. Mine will do that every now and them but not all the time. I've also seen seen a few post where other's are saying it's normal for this transmission not to be smooth shifting. Does anyone else feel the same way about their car and have you had it looked at. The car has just about 8000 miles on it and I got it in Dec.
Thanks
My Z51 doesn't like first gear, it hangs up and grinds occasionally. Reverse is sometimes finicky too. Maybe because I live in warm FL but I don't have the 1st-2nd notchy action others often report. I've thought about getting TMODS shifter box. I don't want a short throw I just want smoother engagement.
I just made an appointment to get my second oil change done and will have them take a look at it just to get it on paper. I'll see what they have to say and let everyone know.

There was a TSB for shifter alignment for the 2014s. I attached the notice. Might be a similar issue... at least this gives your dealer a procedure to check.

I'm not asking to be offensive.... are you short clutching?
I just traded a '15 with 96,000+ miles and the only time I ever had "problems" shifting was when I short clutched....
I don't believe so but I'm not going to lie. It is a possibility. Most of my driving is with work boots on so if I don't readjust my seat, full throw at the end of my reach.
The Tremec TR6070 is a bit of an unusual transmission regarding the clutch engagement point. Its about half way up. Different than all my previous cars which were closer to the floor. Im used to it now, but it can be easy not to fully disengage the clutch if your not familiar.

On my ride to work just now I moved my seat up enough to that the clutch was hard to the floor every time. I was still getting the same shift issues. So it’s not me. Lol I tried different shifting as well. Slamming gears to just letting slide in to gear. Some times it’s was fine other times it would do the same thing. I’ll have them look at the shifter and linkage.

Yeah. That got me bad when I first got the car. It was learning how to drive a stick all over again. Lol
Everyones' expectations of manual transmissions different, based on many variables. For example, how much experience do you have with sticks, varied ones? If you've driven nothing but, say... manual Miata's, you will be severely biased about the "roughness" of nearly everything else you drive. Hence, either get a more experienced person to drive your car (unbiased person, not the dealer service-writer who will likely say its fine even if it falls out of the car when he/she shifts it), or drive another M7 yourself. All the best.
If you have a few dollars, install the MGW shifter and change transfluid to Redline D4 ATF. Both items combined made a difference with cold shifting and effort with the shifter. Easy DIY install. Hardest part is trimming the inner boot under the shifter.

Yeah, know what you mean.... I had the same problem.... particularly the spacing between 1, 3, 5, 7 -- been driving standard shift cars since 1955..... while I "eventually" got in "synch" with the C7 tranny... I'd go out, get into the Ferrari and be transported to another world.... do you use Rev Match? It helped me....

I have a 19 base Stingray M7, and honestly the shifting has been extremely smooth from Day 1. Smoother than my C5 M6 and light years ahead of the clunky M4 in my C3.

yeah I use it all the time. It is like having some one smack you every time you do something wrong. Lol

mine is like yours but it is normal. I have, however noticed that high rpm shifts are amazingly smooth so I guess that is how this car is meant to be driven

I know what your feeling as my GS is the exact same way. Once in a blue moon it will shift smooth but most times it does not. My C6 GS was very smooth so coming to this was a little disappointing and sort of takes the fun out of driving it a little. I only have 1400 miles on my car but I don't see it getting any better. I am going to change the fluid but I am not holding my my breath.
I'll agree with various posts, that shifting is smoother when warmed up and at higher rpm's. Even then, shifts are still not as buttery as my NB Miata, but the throws are much shorter/tighter in the Vette, recognizing that I'm moving more substantial parts inside the transmission. Correct observation, too, about clutch engagement points being significantly different. There's a short re-learning whenever I change cars. Also, Corvette Owner's School got me to improve my driving position, sitting much closer to the pedals/wheel. That's helped my clutch work, too.
