Pulled the car out for a wash and noticed cracked windshield. Not sure what happened odd spot. I'll have to look into my options. Anyone have any issues with the installation of a replacement?

Yep, looks like a stress crack and has been posted about a number of times here in the forum. If you are under warranty, take it to the dealer for replacement.
Mine cracked exactly in the same spot as yours sitting in a garage. Insurance covered the $1k replacement with OEM glass. I googled the reviews on all the local glass shops and picked the best one based on the reviews. Not sure about using GM glass since it seem to crack on it's own but I did not want any HUD problems. They sent out two techs and they replaced it in 45 minutes.
Unfortunately for me I got a rock chip a few months later. Just my luck.

My crack looks identical except on the driver's side. I think maybe when closing the top it hits too hard. I try and stop the top about one inch before hitting the windshield and then finish closing the last inch when it does not hit as hard.

That's a interesting theory hopefully that's not the case. But it does make sense. I think there's targa tops cracking in the same spot like Flame red above post.
Fighting with my insurance as they don't want to pay for OEM because my car 6 years old. My installer refused to install the cheap aftermarket windshield said the quality wasn't even close and submitted pictures. How much do GM Windshields cost? From what I can see online I think Non-HUD GM is like $500 but its hard to find price list online.

It has to be HUD rated. I would explain that to the insurance company. Not just any windshield will do.
Does your policy actually say your insurance does not cover oem parts after 5 years? I would escalate with them. You need a new windshield and probably a new insurance company.
Had you moved to Florida before this happened, you get it replaced with the GM part and no deductible and no money out of your pocket. State Law.
I'd fight tooth and claw for a GM part just like the glass that rolled off the factory floor. Putting in a chinashield just irritates the sand out of me and is one of the reasons I despise what the insurance companies try to leverage to save them money and give you a "Get by" part.
