Hello everyone, just wanted to share this with you in case you were wondering how to solve the cup holder issue. There aren't too many options out there and I really did not like the one where you replace the middle divider with the taller one which sticks out and you cannot close the lid. So, I searched ebay and amazon high and low and found these. Only $12 shipped to my door and I had within a few days of ordering. Although it says its for a trailblazer, the 3" insert fit like a glove! No more tipping water bottles while doing 10 g's around the corner!
Not sure which cup holder you are talking about that sticks up so high the door won’t close. I picked up one that stops the flop and when installed correctly, it works perfectly holding a number of different cup sizes. When not using, I easily press it down and have a perfect space to hold my shades, or cell phone. The door closes easily when the cup holders are not being used. You don’t have to have a mechanical aptitude to install this option.
I solved the problem. No drinks in the car. The cup holder is for my phone.
that was one of the first things I figured out when I got the car and still use it that way. only issue is on really hot days the sun hitting it at that angle really cooks it. if I can just hold on a few more months thing Ill save the $50 bucks..lol
