Hey guys, Just the other day i picked up my dream car, a C7 GS with a 7MT, I sold my ATS-V a month back to pick this one up. The V was a bit more powerful, but the GS takes the cake at the end of the day, its a monster.
One thing I noticed is that the steering effort does not change through the drive modes, (yes i went through the settings to make sure its linked to the drive mode) Is the steering supposed to feel heavier in between modes?
Coming from the V, steering feel was super heavy in track, and super light in tour. However the GS feels pretty light (still loads up in corners and is super precise) in between modes, almost too light for a car with tires this big.

Yes. Touring, Sport and Track. You should feel a substantial difference. Did you go into the settings for steering? You can also set it from there, regardless of the mode you are in.

I have a 15 Z51 and can feel a huge difference just from Touring to Sport. Toss into Track and it's like a different car in terms of steering weight.
If dealer says its ok, then maybe try a different dealer, of course after triple checking that the steering is linked to drive mode, or you have double checked that the over ride doesn't do it either.
Last thing, maybe try disconnecting the battery for 15min and try again. Never know... Weirder things have happened.
Do you have a C7 corvette friend in the area that can test it for you? I could tell you in less than a 1 minute drive if it were a problem. On my Grand Sport I can feel the difference night and day. I don't like the floaty/easy feeling of the tour steering mode at all. I prefer Sport all the time and have it setup that way. For me track is a little too heavy for city driving. One explanation I could see is that the ATS-V is such a huge difference in steering mode feel that it makes the C7 feel like no change.

Immediate and noticeable difference on my Z51 too... with Sport feeling the best, Tour being too light and Track being heavy. Should be obvious.
OP: do you hear the exhaust change? do you feel the suspension change? this would help isolate this problem to just the steering system. On my Z51 it randomly "forgets" the Link-to-Drive / Auto (Mode Selector) setting.
you could be right. Im gonna do an experiment of leaving it in track mode for a week before switching to tour and then seeing if i feel the difference. Try to reset my feel for it.
I love the cars steering right now, but it would be kinda nice if it could get heavier.
