My 2017 Stingray automatic with 24K seems to have developed what feels like a shudder or stumble. As near as I can tell it occurs at lower speeds under normal driving conditions when gently accelerating and goes from V4 to V8. It shudders or stumbles just before converting to V8. It almost feels like an engine miss or washboard highway. I know it’s not a miss because when operated in manual mode the car runs fine.
If that’s not the problem then I don’t what is causing the problem.
The car hasn’t thrown a code.
I wondered if it could be one of the vehicles that had the transmission fluid issue.
Any thoughts from the C7 group?
thsnks!
I'm assuming from your post that you have not gotten a fluid flush. Go to your trusted dealer, tell them you are experiencing a shudder. Per the latest TSB, nothing else needs to be verified. You will get the latest fluid, which is the Mobil1 LV ATF HP, blue label bottle. I have not heard a single issue with the latest fluid (unless of course the damage is already done). Do it as soon as you can

If you haven't had the triple flush done on the car yet, get it done. You can also look into gettting an AFM disabler device from Range Technologies which will stop the V8 to V4 shift.
There are a number of posts on this subject. As suggested, get the triple flush done and the new fluid. It will take a while but eventually the shudder will stop. The TSB says 500 miles. Don't go by that. Mine took 2 triple flushes along with my own drain/refill tranny and more like 1500 miles
I live in South NJ and Kebeck is my service dealer. Made an appt forJuly 6.
unfortunately I’m at the Tail of the Dragon until tomorrow, then to Corvette Museum for a few days. I’m going end up putting 2K more miles on it before I get back to NJ there unless I seek out a reputable Corvette place near Bowling Green.
I guess I’d be wise to try to use manual setting as much as possible.

So, it looks like cars built after 2/1/19 don't need the flush, and I'm assuming that the factory started using the new transmission fluid after that date.

So, it looks like cars built after 3/1/19 don't need the flush, and I'm assuming that the factory started using the new transmission fluid after that date.
Correct. Build dates after 2/1/19 Do not require the new fluid since they come with the newest fluid.
Here’s the fluid your dealership should be using
I did this on my c7 recently.
i bought 4x6pack of the blue label lv atf up at 4x$44.
Had a transmission shop do the multiple power vacuum flush (whatever it's called)...
Problem basically went away almost immediately... On the drive home it was better and by 50 miles it was gone
I have a 2019 and no shudder issues with the transmission... BUT, was wondering if the shudder issue happens all the time or infrequent. I was thinking about asking the dealer to do the flush as I think my car has the older fluid. Tried to figure out the manufacturing date via the VIN, but I could not.
Was going to ask my dealer to do the triple flush, and wanted to be prepared IF they start asking questions. They may not.. But wanted to be prepared.
My car was an early build 2019 A8 and they did flush at 500 mile oil change -- no questions asked.
As said above - get yourself a "Range" devise that stops the V4/V8 crap altogether. Works great.
Thanks for the quick response and thanks for your service. Getting the triple flush Friday. Dealer had no issues with my request.
Gonna skip the Range device. As long as I own my C7, it will be under warranty. So if the transmission starts the shudder, I'll get a new one. While it's in the shop, I can drive my C3.

Driver door open it and look by the door catch the build date is there mine is 4/19 so I'm good for the new fluid.
Mine was built in May 2019. I am experiencing the dreaded shudder. I have an appointment next week . Will GM/Chevrolet not honor the triple flush based on a build date?

I bought a Range (currently on number 2), and according to the instrument cluster, it still shows going into V4 mode. Range told me to disregard what the instrument cluster says...hmmmm...
I removed it...my 2016 is showing no signs of shutter.
