Mine just started doing it but only at the defrost vent and only on one side. Based on my copy of the service history from GM, my dash was replaced on 1/3/2017. I am having my windshield replaced in a few weeks so I will be able to attempt a repair much easier. The way mine is coming up I'm thinking a syringe with the appropriate adhesive should fix it.
Sooner or later some aftermarket company will come up with an overlay to cover the defects that looks good. With today's technology, 3D printers, laser scanners I am sure the C7 dash can be scanned to an exact overlay measurement & finish. The structure could be formed on 3D printer with a very lite & thin composite material covered in the proper color leather. It could be held on with velcro or heavy duty 2 sided tape. If the unit was done right you would never know its an overlay unit. I am almost tempted to give this a try myself....
Whaat are the dash issues I am hearing about with the 3LT trim package? Is it only on certain years? Did the dealer warranty it? What do I look for?
Thanks
Wade
Dash is covered under warranty. I had Certified Preowned warranty on my 2017. Several dealers said not covered under Pre-owned. What I learned is that initially it says not covered. They try not to cover it or get you to pay a split that they offer. Finally I learned that they have Submit it to get authorization. They just just don't want to. Once I called them on it and wrote up a bad review they called me and made it happen. It's pretty sorry that they deny you over and over. Knowing that they can submit it like there Manuel says and do it. It's a huge job and they don't like to do it.
