Maybe it's all psychological, but ever since I installed the 1-4 skip shift eliminator (the one that plugs into the tranny, not the Range OBD-II device), it seems to shift much better and smoother than before. Has anyone else experienced that? I know it shouldn't have any effect, but it definitely does feel like it. The 1-2 shift is smoother, the 2-3 shift, everything just slips into place without any notchiness. I also seem to be able to start up from a stop smoother, too.
Maybe it just more broken in now. My shifting was pretty tight, but after time, it shifts easier now. I hated CAGS and love the eliminator.
good idea, but I don't think that's it. It had 60k miles on it when I added it, and it became noticeable on my first drive after the install (I bought the car used). I'm pretty sure it was broken in by that time LOL

I installed the module on my C5 at 6 years of age when I bought it used, and within a few miles of buying my new C7 last year...and honestly I didn't notice any shifting difference on either. But these very inexpensive units are worth their weight in gold for getting rid of the dreaded 1-4 shift.
