What’s your opinion on header size? On a stock motor that will more than likely only see at most a 150 shot of nitrous, would you run 1 7/8 or 2” header? I think the 1 7/8 will be enough. What does the forum say...

I already had the Corsa catless x-pipe and decided to get headers. Since The Corsa long tube headers have 1 7/8 primary tubes and I was thinking I should probably bite the bullet and go to Kooks or ARH 2 inch long tubes with their respective x-pipes since my car is supercharged. It would have cost me quite a bit more to do so. I talked to Joe at CPR. He knows my car well since I had it tuned by his shop. He recommended I just go with the Corsa headers since I already have the Corsa x pipe and my car is only at about 640 WHP. He said 2" primaries really don't make a difference till you are approaching 1200 hp. I went with the Corsa headers and have been very pleased. Installation went well and there were no clearance problems. The car sounds awesome!

Wanted to elaborate on what I said. 2'' will always make more on these, but you have to weigh the cost/benefit on it. At your power level the small bump the 2'' would give you imo is not justified to have to purchase another x pipe. If a customer sits down with me I tell them every time if buying new starting from scratch go 2'', but your situation the small gain on the 2'' vs the 1 7/8 i don't see the value in dealing with selling a used part and spending more to redo it all when corsa has a good fitting header that will work with what you had.

Thanks for the clarification Joe. That is exactly what I understood, and I have no regrets. You have always given me great advice!
