Applying ceramic coating to clear PPF
I just sold my 2016 which already had PPF and ceramic coating applied before I acquired it.
I am now looking at a Vette that has PPF but not ceramic coated.
I've sprayed mine with ceramic coating to preserve the shine, and wonder if it is
advisable to completely/thoroughly wash the car, then apply the coating myself?
It is pretty simple to do. I couldn't see why I would need it professionally applied.
Am I correct in my thinking??
A bottle of the spray costs around $40, and my labor is free. It would take much less than an hour to apply,
unless there was special prep I don't know about.

Your correct in your thinking Do it yourself and save some cash My entire car has PPF and and apply my own ceramic coating. I use Car Pro Skin then use a topper like TLC2 then AmpYou can use whatever you like won’t hurt a thing. Just won’t last as long as the professional grade stuff

The big and important thing before you apply ceramic coating is to ensure your paint is free of swirls and scratches and paint corrected, that's what takes most of the time and the need for a professional. Have you ensured your paint is 100% corrected?

Said it had PPF already installed so it's too late (and unnecessary) to worry about correction.....

Thanks for responses- I am not buying the PPF covered Vette I was after.
Instead, I have decided to buy a 2021. I know it will be a long time before
I see it, and a long time without having a Vette in my garage.
It won't be easy waiting.
