C7 62k miles. New Orleans, La. few months ago A/C stopped blowing cold air. Blower works fine. AC is usually on lowest temp setting, fan on high. AC button on, recirculate. Checked freon, good. Checked relay, good swapped anyway. Changed low pressure sensor. Worked for a while then stopped. When it's not cooling compressor and engine bay "jet" fans aren't running. Disconnecting/reconnecting main battery usually corrects it for a few days. Last time it stopped my engine temp stopped also, all engine temp gages read zero. Changed engine temp sensor everything started working again. That was 3 weeks ago. Yesterday it stopped again. Today I notice no engine temp also. On my way to work, I floored it for a few seconds, everything started working again. I have reseated every wire that I can dealing with AC. From other posts, I have reached under glove box and pulled on those, no help. Any help appreciated. Also it's not throwing any codes and I can not duplicate it. It fails randomly.
Mine was blowing hot air out the drivers side only which turned out to be a drivers side cabin temperature sensor had failed. I did not have any of the other symptoms you describe though.
If the vehicle is not reading coolant temperature it assumes a high temp condition. This causes cooling fans to run high speed and engine loads to be shed including A/C compressor. Car may also show reduced power.
