Painted them a few days ago and installed them today .
As for the piece that a lot of guys are breaking I heated the hose where it goes into the plastic part and it slid right off !
I also used a plastic tool that I bought from HF for removing interior parts and popped the wiring harness plugs off the plenum cover .
Doing this I didn't have to cut the tie !
So now that that is done and I did not break the piece that some broke ,I have one for sale . I bought it off of JayR2K in case I broke mine . Brand new . I paid $28 for it so that is what I will sell it for plus shipping .
This part number is 12670978 but I have a Grand Sport and it is not the same design. Might be for a stingray .
How did you paint the lettering? Did you use any kind of temperature resistant paint?
Probably should have but I used the Automotive Touch up for the LBR. I just used Rustoleum black gloss for the plenum cover and used that with a small brush for the letters . I hope it holds up , the engine bay gets pretty hot .
Just did mine - used paint from Automotive Touchup (Carbon Flash 501Q & Sterling Blue WA413B) - adhesion promoter, base coat, clear coat. Bought decal for Corvette lettering from a vendor & made the hash mark decal. I did break that dang little hose connection and had to get another.

Looks good ! I like the stripe !
I guess I got lucky with my hose but like I said I heated it up and the hose pull right off !
