I gotta ask. If it is a flat surface the water will not run off so it will sit and bake on...yes?

Don't believe seller who claim "never seen rain"

All maiden drives from dealer to home ALWAYS RAIN, it's like a law.

Not necessarily. Three reasons - 1) Corvettes do not have very many flat surfaces; 2) a great ceramic coating has excellent water repellency properties (hydrophobicity) and; 3) there are very few places were you drive or park that are perfectly level. Most roads are designed with a degree or 2 of downslope for water run-off purposes. So, if you park on the side of the road your vehicle is sloped slightly. Go look on YouTube and take a look at some of the water replellency tests many pro-detailers demonstrate on their ceramic coating videos. They turn on a full facet spraying over an entire car and within seconds 99% of the water is gone.

Truth! Despite living in FL the worse rain I have encountered to date was driving thru NC on the trip between NJ to FL just after buying my C7

The slope of my driveway cancels this out. Water pools badly on the upper half of my hood to the point where I've considered backing in. Such is life with a car that sits outside

In our summer, Florida offers a free car wash most every day around 5PM. Just a fact of life down here.

When I lived in So Florida I drove my C5 vert daily. Was in western Sunrise and got on the Sawgrass expressway that doesn't have bridges to go home with top down. The sky opened up suddenly into a bad downpour so much so that if I would have stopped the interior would be soaked. I put the windows up and kept driving 60 mph. By the time I got to the end the sun was back out. Other drivers must have gotten a big kick out seeing me.

Does your C7 have a ceramic coat? I cannot get any water to sit on my hood with my Ceramic Coat. I put it on myself, 3 coats of Gyeon Mohs. Give it a serious consideration if you want to resolve water sitting on your hood.

I was worried about the melting thing I've heard so much about, now's there proof.....some will say it still melts.......

Thought I would hear a lot of whining on this little trip a couple years ago, I thought I heard gasps, weather mode works well.

I was wondering when a “... didn’t melt from the rain” thread would appear again. It’s been weeks since the last one

Normally you get these messages during the rainy season.
