My 2016 Z06 with only 3600 miles needs a new compressor due to a leaky crank seal & a new accessory belt tensioner seal also leaking, The dealer wants $2275 to take care of this, Since the car is out of the 3yr warranty the service tech suggested I call Chevy for some relieve. I found over 40 hits on the forum for a leaky compressor that had to be changed: some with only 100 miles. Anybody else with this issue?
First sorry for your bad news....no one looks forward to a car repair. However, you mention only 3600 miles...I am not a mechanic but a crank seal and belt tensioner is more about time and maybe lack of use. Again sorry and I hope you get GM to pay for some of the bill. I do not have the issue 2018 with 10,000 miles.

Definitely get some help from GM. 3600miles/4yrs is unacceptable for any part of the car. The alternative is doing it yourself (or a buddy). I found the compressor - now just need some HVAC knowledgeable folks (or videos). Good luck.
dealer told me on my car, bottom cradle has to come out,,, 7-8 hour job...
I could absolutely be wrong, but pulling an engine cradle to get the compressor out just doesn't sound right. Even though I've never pulled a compressor on a C7, I have worked on many auto AC systems. You might want a second opinion from an independent AC repair facility.

my car is not the first one they have done,, i am sure they are correct
I agree the compressor is buried but i dont think the cradle has to be removed completely, just lowered . Disconnect motor mounts support motor, remove cradle bolts , shock bolts and upper a arm bolts . Cradle will lower easily giving you room to get to the compressor .
