I have a '17 GS M7 and run 2-3 HPDE events every year (currently running intermediate). I've been running the MPSS in stock sizes and go through a set once a year at least. Now Michelin is discontinuing the MPSS and they are getting harder to find as replacements. I know the Cup2 tirea are an alternative, but I'm concerned with tread life, it's already bad with the SS tires. I recently bought some forge monoblock wheels (19/20 setup), so not looking to invest in new wheels yet. It's a street/track car and I'm looking for the best compromise that is relatively cost effective. What would you recommend?
I run Bridgestone Potenza S007A as a mixed use (street / track) tire. They have survived 7,000 miles and 4 tracks days so far. The shoulders are showing some wear but the tread itself is fine.

The S007A is probably not a good alternative in this case since the widest 20" tire they make is a 275/35R20 and that's way too little tire for the rear. My suggestion would be to look at the Michelin PS4S. They don't yet make a 335/25R20 but I have their 325/25R20 on my Z06 and by my tape measure it's nearly the same diameter and width as the original Cup2 tires the car came with.
Thanks for the replies. I've never considered the 4S tire, I'll think about that some. Seems I remember hearing others running those on the track. I may have to do the math on running 18s all around to save in the long run. Problem is I always say this is my last track day, then after the event I can't wait until next time.
