Default #2 Fob dead

Replaced batteries in both, first fob fine, 2nd was not recognized, tried the slot near the wheel, nothing, opened the fob again and this time broke off the little piece that locks the key in. Nothing, nada, car wouldn't recognize #2 fob. Therefore: Good place to buy a new fob? And, what will a dealership charge to reprogram it?
Signed,

PS tested each one independently, did not have both in the car

Hmmm. Fob should be recognized in the slot even if the battery is bad. Don't know if it will work with the battery incorrectly installed. There is a correct orientation to insert the fob - buttons up, top of fob inserted.

First try another battery. You may have gotten an old or failed battery.

When you have the battery out, take a picture of the part number. There are various fobs depending on year, auto/man, vert/coupe.

That said, you can search for the part number and either buy a used one or new. Some of the online auto parts suppliers are actually dealers. Check a couple of the big online sites - sometimes shipping is free on one site but not on another.

Note that you can add a new fob following the procedure in your owner's manual or the procedure up in the sticky threads.

Let us know how you make out.

You may not need a new fob. You can buy just the case. If you find the correct one on line they usually sell for less than $20.

Get tour #2 FOB either repaired or replaced then do the long program in these instructions and you can program it yourself for free.

The FOB in the slot will start the car with or without the battery if the FOB is good and programmed for the car.

The buttons of the fob must face up and the bottom of the fob must be facing passenger side.

Try it again.

Biggest pain to pry open the FOB and replace batt. I have ever seen. Use the key to pry it open. I viewed a youtube to make sure I didn't break anything.

The manual shows how to open the fob with the key.
