Infotainment display

Having to have the infotainment display replaced and the dealer can not tell me if I need to get the new GPS update disc. Isn't the info stored in the computer?

My screen in my 2015 coupe was replaced in May. Nothing changed, except now I can see what is on the screen.
The replacement screen installed, was $1,234.21.

Mine was $1500.00 2 months ago.......no change in GPS

The update V.2020 is on sale for $99 still. It is just a thumb drive that plugs in to the USB port, takes about 30-45 minutes to update.
