Default Deka Battery?

Anyone heard of this, used it? Any good?

My son works at a local service shop and this is what they sell. He says they have never had any problems. I was planning on the normal OEM or Diehard.

Deka is the brand name for East Penn manufacturing company who is one of the largest "manufacturers" of auto, truck, and industrial batteries in the world.
I used to sell them in my auto parts stores and they are very good batteries. They are really big in heavy truck and industrial batteries and are actually the largest
"single facility" battery manufacturing facility in the world. It's quite a place.

Personally though, I will be going back with another Delco when my '17 GS battery goes out as I just prefer staying OEM.

In my 7 Corvettes over the past 30 years I have never used a tender and normally get 5 years on OEM batteries... why change what works?

5 years seems like a short life span. I'm still on the original battery in my 2008 Cobalt SS that has never been on a tender, nor do I drive it daily.

I'm a Deka and ACDelco distributor and always go OE. Having said that, Deka is a good product as well, sell hundreds every month with very, very few issues.

Ive been using East Penn manufactured batteries in my vehicles (including the Vette) for more than a decade. Great batteries and they are AGM.

Batteries are all over the ballpark. Someone will swear by, someone else swear at the same battery. Get whatever you trust.

To compare the electrical demands of a Cobalt over that of a Corvette makes no sense.

Unfortunately there is truth to this. The Corvette's electrical system is sadly fussy and delicate, far from robust.
