Not sure how good a driver that guy is, but I thought this might happen based on how close some of the initial C8 z51 vs C7 z51 comparos were.

You are right, I have driven my friends C8 and I really like it. I can't give an opinion on the guy skills because I am not an expert on the track.

Thanks for posting this, I enjoyed it. Did leave me a little disappointed in the C8, however a new platform with a lot of potential.

I can't believe you guys spent these many pages debating which of these two is faster.

Both cars have extremely similar power under the curve to weight ratios. Both cars have similar sized tires and tire compounds. Similar weight distribution. Similar aero packages. Similar transmissions with similar gearing spread.

When 2 cars of the same generation are this evenly matched their performance (at least for ONE lap and ONE drag) will be similar.

It is a waste of time to debate if one car is 1/10th faster on a 1/4 mile or 5/10th faster on track.

This is like debating which one of two bullets of the same weight, same shape, same material, with the same powder charge, shot from two guns with the same barrel length will be faster through the chrono. You can spend hours arguing why one is 10fps faster than the other on a given day. But it does not matter. Both are of equivalent performance for all practical purposes.
