Fog Lamps
Just curious and was wondering if anyone knew why GM omitted the fog lamps on the C7? I remember I had then on my C5 as an option and I believe they were standard on my C6. Sometimes here in the lake area they came in handy in the fall.

Nope. The C7 was never equipped w/fog lamps... well, not their production version(s). The C7R has them... There are a few aftermarket bumper/grille kits that have the LED strips, which can serve as fog lamps.

Everyone is different.
We had fog lamps on our 2001, 2006, and 2009. Also on many other cars over the years. Never found any use for them- weather was either clear enough that normal low beams worked well, or so foggy that even the fog lamps didn't help.

I tucked these up under my C5, and could do the same with the C7. But, all I ever used them for was flashing at other Vettes, since no one waves.

I wondered that too, but haven't missed them from my C5 days.

I love fogs lights on the C7
From my very first car, I've added fog lights...just like I have added sub-woofers.
Fogs lights installed via Z06 grill
C7 with yellow fogs flights

I kind of miss them ( I had them on three C6s), but they have never been on the C7.
In my experience, they are most useful during actually foggy conditions, and when it's rainy. They work really well to define the pavement markings during wet conditions.

Corvette owners don't drive their cars in the rain, snow, drizzle or fog. GM made the decision to scrap them and save a few bucks in the process.

Any car I've ever had that had them, I could barely tell if they were on or not from the inside.
They are basically a styling item that has gone out of favor... I for one don't miss them.

I would guess cost is GM's main decision factor and the reality of not many owners would miss them.

Friend of mine lives in a remote area of upstate NY and I drove in his Jeep that was equipped with yellow fog lights that really cut through the fog and gray, misty rain weather conditions.
I still have my C5 and updated the OEM fog lights with HIDs as well as HID headlights and LED side makers, corners, and tails. I use them mostly for evening dusk driving right before it gets dark I turn on (pop-up) the headlights.
I think the C7 styling and modern headlight designs simply eliminated the need for auxiliary lights.
