There are a few cars that never really lose a dime in value (at least not counting inflation)... BMW 1M, 2005/6 FGT, some top line exotics... I'm sure I'm missing a couple others that were reasonably priced. One of the key elements is low production numbers.
The C7 will not be one. If they'd made 3000, maybe. But 10x that many per year for years on end, not even remotely close.
They made TONS of C7 Z06's. Mark my words, those will be a dime a dozen someday.
The ZR1 I think will be different. Single year, last front engine, last manual, highest performance of any to date and set way apart from the others in terms of mechanicals.
The reason C6 ZR1's sit at 60k and probably will forever is because they are worth it. C7 ZR1's are fewer and better... they will never be that cheap.

Residual monetary value or amount of cars built has little to do with wheather a car becomes a classic. Case in point, a classic 55 Chevy where many thousands were built.
In the same way as the old adage "birds of a feather fly together" Folks love to compare stats of a C7 to a totally different midengine C8.
Its just plain irrelevant and silly when they should only be comparing stats to other similar mid engine cars.
I
Since the new C8 has completely changed the Corvette game going to mid-engine, wouldn't that make our C7's instant classics with respect to being the last rear wheel drive (front engine) Corvettes? And if it's a manual, even more so! So.......... Technically, we should all be able to tell folks we have a "classic Corvette"! Can I get a Whoot Whoot!
A C7 Corvette has a long way to go before becoming a "classic"
This thread reminds me of the threads "How rare is my car?"
Yours may be the only one of a particular color, interior, and various options - but this does not make it valuable.
How very well said!
I have a 32-year-old 328 GTB Ferrari. Only 1344 were made total, and only 89 US Spec 328 B-models were made. Of those numbers just two (2) in the silver/red (argento/rosso) combination came to North America.. Car's rare but but no where near valuable.

Reason: punctuation
Probably not instant, but it does seem to be the first generation with a back window. I haven't seen the C8 in person, but it looks like a back window as well.
