Default mecum auction

Mecum having end of Aug auction in Orlando Fl. Do you feel it is safe to attend due to the virus, First time they are having a summer event. Always held in January. 1000 cars are expected, always have at least 10 % corvettes. I would really feel bad if I don't go. Lots of people attend, even with mask sounds scary. Give me your thoughts.

Not only no, but hell no... Where are cases of covid going up? Florida for 1.. Way too many stupid people (of both parties) that think science, facts, or a virus care what they "believe" (As the above post shows).... Stay home if you have to bid on a car, use the internet.

It isn't catching pneumonia. You have ZERO idea what it will do to you. It might be nothing, or you might be the guy that dies. Then there is the who you give it too, and how it affects them...

I’m assuming you’ve either been to an auction before or have been to some event that had more then 5 people—if so, were you ever worried about catching pneumonia or any other sickness/disease? Probably not. Nothing’s changed, don’t lick people’s faces and cover your coughs/sneezes.

Go enjoy the auction and get a great deal on something.

Go if you feel you have to, but be very cautious and sensible as stated above.

A major problem with Covid is that we have far too many people who are ignorant to the danger and overall seriousness of the virus and far too many who are in total hysterics over it and not enough sensible people in the middle.

In an area where virus stats are increasing, I would stay away from large gatherings. But, use your own judgement.

Nobody ever pays attention to the flu statistics every year, and tens of thousands a die every year. Kids, healthy people, older people. Never know how any virus or disease will affect you. This has been life since day 1. If you’re scared today, you should be scared for the rest of your life as scary stuff has always and will always exist. That’s science and a fact.

Could you imagine the panic if the media tracked flu cases each season? “27 millionth case in the US”. Nobody would ever go out.

Why in the world “would you feel bad” if you didn’t go? Why is it so important to you?Watch it online or TV...

and move this to OT.

I'll be going to the Dallas event Sept 9-12. They increased the standard bidder registration from $100 to $150. They will justify the increase for Covid cleaning. There will not be a problem keeping my distance from other people.

We live about an hour and a half from Kissimmee and usually attend every January. We're planning on being there again, this month, with proper face coverings, sanitizers and common sense to keep distances. Looking forward to it.

Strange question to ask..... Go if you want... No one on this forum is going to dictate how I feel about it or what I would do... Watch the news and weigh your personal thoughts on the risk/reward.

I do not recall ever seeing the multiple Hospitals across the regions requiring multiple refrigerated trailers parked outside to store the overflow of dead patients from flu....ever.
This year we are seeing this with COVID19. Not the same....until we have some type of vaccine to help combat this.

1. Ever see those trailers or go inside?

2. Oddly enough, when those stories were posted, flu deaths far surpassed covid deaths. But again. No one cared about that.

good thing all those empty naval hospital ships got good use! The overall numbers are not impressive. People should have always been careful of yucky stuff out there.

we’ll go around for days over this. Bottom line is believe what you want. Science and facts are out there. News is also out there but not based on much.

OK - so those trailers were deployed for show or some great conspiracy???
News not based on much??? Just the Medical experts that have worked for years on studying disease control and what they are recommending on what ALL of us can do to slow it down. You're in Cal, I'm in FL - both of our states have wide spread cases.

Agree - we can go back and forth for days on this......but it isn't a hardship (or against my rights) for me to comply with what they are asking of us.

To me the risk far outweigh any rewards. Why take an unnecessary risk that can be fatal.

Keeping people scared until they get the mandatory vaccine.

South Korea.... 300 dead for the entire county. I was there in February through July 2020.

Covid is a SCAM on the American People

CoViD-19 Deaths compared to other common causes of death n the U.S. Note this is only between February and May. The total of COVID-19 deaths in the States is now ~160,000

Florida's covid19 numbers are through the roof. I am shocked they are holding it.
