Default Soler Performance TB - seriously??

Seriously - if all vendors could approach their business like Soler Performance approaches theirs, the world would be a much better place!!

I know, I know - a ton of posts praising this outfit already - but heck, another one cant hurt.
Just a great outfit with a great product!! Everything you've read is true. I ordered this on a Thursday and it was to me on Saturday and on my car that same day. AND.......IT........WORKS!!!

I have a 2015 Z51 M7 I bought a few weeks ago, having sold my 2008 base A6 just prior. The C6 A6 definitely had a major lag at throttle tip in.....I installed a pedal commander and was pleased how it closed that "gap".

When I got the C7 M7, I didn't really feel much lag at tip in.....probably since it was just so much better than the C6 in so many ways. After reading all the posts on Soler's TB, I still didn't think I really needed it. Felt the C7 rocked fine just the way it was. I needed (OEM dirty) a new air filter at the current 26k so replaced it with the Attack Blue. Drove her a bit - hard to really ever tell if an AF makes any difference - maybe some intake sound, maybe a tiny bit of seat of the pants improvement.

I then installed the Soler Performance Throttle Body and holy shnikeys.......seriously!!
Better, predictable throttle response!!! Not just from tip in. Acceleration feels way quicker and much more responsive. Exhaust growl went up for sure.....likely combo-ed with the filter helps. The damn thing is just soooooo much more fun to drive. Best $275 I've spent in a long long time for a bolt on performance mod.
Kudos to Soler Engineering.

Mike is a first class act and should provide engineering and customer service consulting to a number of "big" companies in need of either or both.

I don't know about the throttle body but that is one nice looking torch red C7. Actually I plan on getting a Soler.

He is the real deal. He’s doing mine in the near future. I talked with him at length this past Saturday, and he is so knowledgeable. And a great guy. I can’t wait.

how was the "relearning" process, did the car feel weak/running improperly when first installed?

I'm planning to get one soon. Has anyone tried pulling the ECM/TCM fuse instead of disconnecting the battery for the learning process. Seems much easier.

Just talked to Mike yesterday. I have a feeling his TB and controller will be going in my car in the very near future.

I pulled the fuse, vastly easier than disconnecting the battery.

I removed the fuse, installed the TB, replaced the fuse, and went out for the relearn procedure. The other advantage is if the car goes into limp mode or there is any other issue, you can pull the fuse, the ECM resets, and you can start over.

I happened to be speaking with Mike later He explained he previously told people to pull the fuse but many had trouble figuring out the correct fuse even when told which one to pull. Telling people to disconnect the battery is unambiguous.

So I followed the initial instructions of running for three minutes at idle, turning off, and repeating couple times. Then youre supposed to drive it at 44mph or higher and come back down to idle.....which, as his instructions note, is essentially normal city driving - doing this for 50-100 miles should round out the ECM. Ive maybe driven half of that thus far. It did seem like after install and after the couple of cycles in my garage for the three minute periods that I MAYBE felt a little up tick in RPMs maybe when letting of the throttle just prior to a downshift.....who knows.........but after 15-20 miles it now seems smooth as glass........Again, very, very happy with how the car now feels!!

Thank you for the information. I'll be pulling the fuse. Another bonus is that it doesn't affect other systems in the car.

Im assuming this doesnt require a tune, correct? Just some sort of re-learn procedure the ECM does on its own for A/F ratio?

Also, does this mess with the warranty?

Correct.

With respect to warranty......my experience working for two OEMs, if a dealership were to make the claim that the causal part contributed to failure of a warranteed component (ie engine damage), they could deny warranty. In the case of an aftermarket TB with an impressive reputation and well defined engineering processes as outlined on their website, I doubt it very very much. You can also order the TB without any SP engraving on the baffle plate........

do it! You will feel the difference even with just the controller...I did that first and then went with the throttle body just cause I could...it seems to have smoothed things out a bit...but the controller added the most for me in pedal response...simply incredible!
