I do preventive maintenance on my 2015 c7. Like a good owner, I replaced the battery after 4.5 yrs, did a coolant flush at 5 yrs, will replace the tires at 6 yrs, etc etc. However, I was curious when to preventively replace hoses and belts besides periodic checking for cracks in belts and soft spots on hoses.

I assume a "BAD" owner waits until they need a battery to replace it.
I can tell you, I own a 2005, has the original belts and hoses, and I live in S Florida, which has heat & humidity, and asked the tech when they changed my oil, look the car over, and he reported everything was looking good. I get the 50,000 or 5 year service which is transmision, rear end, brake fluid replaced. I don't do before hand, waste of money. I do it every 5 years.
If I needed anything I sure the tech would try to sell me something, and the has 78,000.
I've heard it said by Pat Goss on MotorWeek that modern belts and hoses don't display the same signs of wear or warning as the older ones (among other things, hoses used to get soft in some spots, and belts used to start showing sign of shredding, cracking). I don't know who to check with, maybe the mfr. of both, or Summit racing, etc.
GM recommends 150,000 mi on replacing the belt and to inspect & replace hoses on a as needed basis. No further guidance from GM I can find. I have a 2006 Toyota Camry with 268,000 miles on it and I still have the original hoses on it. Hoses are like the Energizer bunny, they keep going, and going, and going.
The manual said to change the timing belt on my Fiat 124 twin cam motor at 60,000 miles. At 62,000 miles it snapped causing the valves to collide with the piston. After I got the bill to repair that damage, I never made that mistake again.
I changed the belts and upper and lower radiator hoses on my 96 when I bought it 2 years ago... They were original... and they looked pretty dang good honestly...
