Powertrain warranty

Do I need to do anything to transfer the warranty or is it just automatic? I just bought a 17 with 29k so I should have almost 2 years left.

A dealer should be able to tell you the "in service date" , a 17 could of been in service in mid-16

If the OP got a Carfax when the car was purchased, the in-service date is included in the data. Any remaining warranties will be shown there also.

If you have the warranty that originally came on the car, then no, you do not have to do anything. If you are talking about an extended warranty, then yes, you need to get in touch with the warranty provider and many times there is a nominal charge to transfer the warranty to a new owner.
