From what I read, the C7 Stingray, not the Z06 takes the Hellcat til the 1/8th mile then the Hellcat goes by the Vette and wins the 1/4... On their forums they are saying the Z06 barely beats it.. How is that possible.. Z06 has 50 less horsepower but weight 800-1000 lbs less. Doesn't make any sense. I have a feeling these guys are like Camaro guys just fudging the #'s to win.. Are these people delusional or what?

From what I could quickly google, the Z06 does the quarter in 11.9 secs and the Hellcat runs it in 12.1. Of course other testing may have different results. The extra 57 hp most likely makes the Dodge pretty competitive.
All C7 Corvettes are traction limited on street tires with the Z06 and ZR1 having big problems in first and second gears.

If I'm not mistaken, the Hellcat has thinner and smaller tires in the rear to even compound that problem. Smaller contact patch and spinnin' like crazy
To refine my statement, the Hellcat and the Z06/ZR1 are all so traction limited that you really don’t know what you’re dealing with without proper tires and a prepared surface. You’d probably learn more from the trap speed than you would from the ET. In my opinion (I own a GS for what it’s worth) the Z06 is an awesome value with world class performance in all areas but it is kind of hard to make use all of that awesomeness on the street. The Hellcat is all about straight line acceleration and the ZR1 is, well it’s a ZR1 so that pretty much says it all.

Not sure what Google found, but C7Z does the quarter considerably faster than that. As reported by C&D, "Chevrolet claims the Z06 sprinted through the benchmark 0-to-60-mph measure in just 2.95 seconds and that it annihilated the quarter-mile in an equally impressive 10.95 at 127 mph. Those who opt for the seven-speed manual transmission will have to be content with claimed 3.2- and 11.2-second (also at 127 mph) times."
Hellcats have ~9% horsepower advantage but are ~25% heavier and, as others said, have even more serious traction issues. My GT500 is competitive with my C7Z, but the Z is quicker. A friend's comparably equipped Shelby ran consistently faster than the Hellcats he raced at the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack. Assuming comparbly skilled drivers, I doubt the Hellcat is all that competitive with a C7Z.

I’m not a fan but to be fair we should acknowledge that the Dodge is much heavier and is at such a huge disadvantage in so many areas that the comparison is just for sh#ts and giggles.
Had a heads up quarter mile run at Bradenton Motorsports Park with my factory stock C7 Stingray Z51 A8 against a Challenger Hellcat A8. I treed him, ran 11.76 @ 118 MPH to his 12.02 @ 124 MPH and had him by many car lengths at the finish line. Hellcats can't hook up with street tires, rendering most of their 700+ horsepower useless in a standing start race.

Go check out the Hellcat forum. They respect Corvettes, but post after post how the Hellcat beats Corvettes. That's why I made this thread. Wanted to get your guys take on it. Also, there are a few guys on there that traded their C7 for a Hellcat and say they are much happier.. Would they actually say they regretted it? 🤔
There are lots of good reasons to move to the Dodge, ease of entry/exit, room for four and several more. When making that switch the Mustang and Camaro are also options. The Corvette however is unique on the American scene, it doesn’t work for everyone but it is very good at what it does, world class performance at a fairly reasonable price point.

I get that, but they knew what they were getting into when they bought the Vette. Everyone knows the differences between these cars, I just find it stupid that they act like they had no idea it was that good. Like dumping your girlfriend for another woman 🙄
I can’t get very excited about the Dodge but for some folks I’m sure that it’s the answer to their motoring prayers, roomy, powerful and fun to drive. Every car is a compromise, you pays your money and you takes your choice.

I'm sure if I got a Hellcat, I'd like it, but I'm not going to start citing the obvious. More room, easier to get into blah blah blah. We all know this.
