Default Finally here.

GS01 rims were delivered yesterday. I'm a bit disappointed.
The inside of the barrel of the rim has imperfections in the chrome coating and has a course brushed finish, not polished as I thought they would be.
Also, there is imperfections in the plating on the polished side. QC did not do their job.

Brushed barrel

Polished face

Is that a 19/19 setup or 19/20? They look good

Great looking wheels! I'm debating on the polished or charcoal gray. Now I'm liking the polished.

Question, will the polished wheels remain this quality of a shine without too much upkeep, as in having to re-polish them down the road ? I understand they will have to be cleaned and hand polished or waxed
Thank you,
Rich

The rims are chrome plated. How long the coating will last, who knows

I had to polish mine with Adams. This was 6 years ago when I had mine. I would personally have them clear coated.

I read some stuff about wheel cleaners having a negative effect oh clear and ceramic coatings.
I don't know what to believe anymore. Did you experience any issues with coatings and wheel cleaners?

Well that is disappointing. I was considering a set of chrome myself. Might have to go with polished if the QC is better.

Hey Rich,
The wheels are polished at the manufacturer and then clear coated to lock the finish in. During a promotion, @Motorsports LA included a free ceramic coat on the wheel set as additional protection. I am not sure how long that lasts, but I've been cleaning the wheels with normal car wash soap (Zaino Z-7) and then maintaining between washes with any automotive quick detail spray. Hope that helps.
