Why do dealerships employ several morons in the service department. You can write a detailed page of exactly your car's issues, and it's completely ignored.
Morons are everywhere. You can't avoid them so you have to learn how to get things done using them. Morons are probably 60% of the Human Population of the planet. Some are less moronic than others but still morons.
Age old question. Solution - find another dealership with more competent people.
The problem is the next dealership is over 20 miles away and in a very hot area!
There used to be Today Chevrolet, which was a terrific dealership and Chevrolet closed them down. They kept Paradise Chevrolet which is not my favorite!!!!
I went to Paradise to have the Magnetic Ride Upgrade done and they wanted me to pay $160 on top of the $350 Chevrolet said was MSRP.
I showed them the memo and the Service Manager said they were not part of that program. I told him he was a Chevrolet Dealership, how could they not be part of the program! He just repeated himself.
The price is *suggested*. Most have and will charge the $350, some won't. As an example. My dealer only charged me close to $200. I questioned it and wondered if they did the right repair. They did, and still only charged me "less than the suggested $350".
I do agree with other aspects though.... sometimes very frustrating dealing with service writers.
This is exactly why I do all the research I can to fix issues and do routine maintenance on my vehicles all by myself. I only take the gamble with the dealership if the job is beyond my capabilities.

They don't pay techs very much. Techs don't care since its 15th car they've worked on this week and they got 3 more to bang out before lunch. Management stresses profits over personalized, individual service. This the downside to owning a Chevy vs some higher end brand.
Now from the dealers point of view most owners send them on wild goose chases so I bet they have learn to ignore reports and do their own investigation.
While it’s not always convenient, try to find a dealership that actually has a Corvette tech. Fortunately my local dealership does, and service has been good. My other non-GM vehicles and related services, not so much.
With buying Vettes I have always looked up reviews on their service depts. and talked to one or two Vette owners who have gone to that dealership and it has served me well. I drive an hour each way to Olympia, WA to Titus-Will because of "Mark the Mechanic". He's talented, easy to talk to and interested in keeping you abreast of his work. His pride shows, he has been there for many years and will be there for many more. I paid about a grand more for my used '14 Torch Red Z51 1LT 7MT Convertible than at another dealership (I do get free oil changes for life as well and with 10 qts of Mobil One it's saved me that grand already) because I did the research (2nd Vette I've bought from them). It's worth the time and a little money to do it right.

Dealers tend to want descriptions of symptoms, not full-blown diagnoses. I learned this pretty early on in my interactions with dealers. You can say, "It sounds like left front wheel bearing is bad," but given the weirdness of noise transmission through auto bodies, it's just as likely that the right bearing is bad, to take an example I saw years ago. Just tell them what you hear and feel. They probably have seen it before.
Dealerships are like the government.
They don’t care about you.
And they gonna do what they want.
Which is why mine has been at the dealership over a month for a torque converter.....................it's gone from being a repair to a hostage negotiation..........

Your best bet is to join a Corvette club if you aren't already a member of one and ask who they recommend. Its very likely they know who and who not to take your car too.
When it's warranty work, it's really frustrating. the best techs actually work for themselves or at say a Cadillac dealership, which won't touch the car.

That is pathetic! they should pay you! I wish us Corvette owners could could picket outside Mary Barra's office outside GM Headquarters, and demand satisfaction! Of course She has decided the future is all electric, so the are just placating us Jurassic Dinosaurs for awhile.
Apparently there is more than one paradise Chevrolet in California. I had the mag ride update done on my GS at Paradise Chevrolet in Temecula and it cost $350. The Vette specialist at my Paradise Chevrolet is quite good.

BTW, if I recall correctly, any GM car dealership may service any GM car. Whether they choose to do so or not could be another question.
