Bought a radar mount that mounts to the mirror and sticks out way too far and doesn't fit right. What is everyone using for their radar mount ? I went back to suction cups for the time being. Btw, this is for a cordless detector. so I can mount it anywhere. Thanks.
I went with this mount. It allowed the V1 to sit up tight but just low enough for the rear antenna to receive. Then
I tapped into the mirror for power.
I have a Radenso that sits on the dash on a silicon sticky pad. It stays in place with the most aggressive driving I’m capable of. Warns me of all traffic light cameras and roadside “your speed is xx” signs. Gives me plenty of warning of Trooper radar traps and squawked loudly the one time i was hit with laser from about 1/8 mile away. Fortunately I was only going 5 mph over the 50mph limit so we just waved at each other as I drove by. It also makes muting simple and easy by just pushing the little red button on the male socket at the end of the power lead plugged into the 12 volt receptical on the console. An advantage of dash mounting is also that it is less conspicuous than the higher rear view mirror mount. It is probable that I am giving up some long range sensitivity but so far I’ve been getting plenty of warning from pretty far away.
Suction cup mount.
Position it right of center where you can flip down the passenger side sun visor and prevent anyone behind you from seeing the lights on the detector; particularly at night.
