Default Help how to replace Rear Qtr running lights

Hi all, just noticed that the running light on my rear qtr panel is out. I can not find any literature on how to change this out, and where to get lights. It is driving me nuts.

So I need your HELP!
Thanks in advance!

There are no bulbs in that lamp, they are LED's. In order to replace undo the screws along the inside of the wheelwell and one on the bottom behind the wheel. The inner fender liner will then be able to be pulled away from the body and you can get your and inside and squeeze the 3 clips that hold the lamp in place. Push the lamp out and disconnect the wire assembly. Reverse order to install new lamp.
Lamps are probably dealer only if you want OEM or there are several suppliers on this board that sell the full strip LED's which I think look better than the 2 LED originals.

I just replaced mine (the OEMs were just fine),but I wanted the smoked full LED aftermarket units that are sold by several vendors here on the forum. Getting to and replacing the lights are actually very easy and you do not have to take the tires off to do the swap.

Same thing happened to me... so I just put swapped out to Oracle LEDs.

Ordered from here: https://www.vette-lights.com/collect...rkers-set-of-4
The video on that site shows how to install them - super easy.

If you are going to do a search for a part number om a GP parts site, the lights are called "Side Marker Lamps" in GM parlance.

Hello JMII,

What is your experience with this brand LEDs? No burnouts? Oracle was pretty much the leading brand selling these side marker LED lights eight years ago…maybe even the only brand if I can remember correctly. They are not cheap for an ORM replacement alternative.

In 2015-2016, I purchased the painted version. I paid $350 back then. I was stationed in Korea at the time, just returning from a deployment from AFG. Had some money to splurge, so wasn’t too wrapped around the expensive price.

I waited about a month to get the part, only to realize that there were duplicate parts of one side, another words two lefts or rights (can’t remember which side). So had to contact Oracle from Korea, take pictures, email back and forth (14+ hr time diff), and then mail it back to them for a replacement which took another over a month.

Finally received the correct parts and was super excited like kid in Toys’R’Us (1990’s humongous toy department store) to finally install them. It was cool at first until one tiny LED light started to go out. And then two, and now you can see a tiny hole or gap appearing through the brightness making my C7 Z51 look very cheap (or Chevrolet-ish craftsmanship). I’m guessing it might of been the summer rain or maybe the brand was too new back then with no competitors. So…I reordered and paid for one LED strip/side…..went through the while waiting process. Months later, now Wintertime in Korea (10-15 degree F temp), one of the lights started to flicker…so embarrassing. I had to go tap on the light for it to go on, and eventually the tapping didn’t help.

Ultimately, I wasted my hard-earned deployment money of $350 and gift to myself!! Of course, that gift also included the Borla 2-stage ATAK exhaust with Borla diffuser and X-pipe, which I still have 7 yrs later with 110% satisfaction. About to install headers now since I only have about 25,000 miles left on my 10-yr/100,000mi Ethos warranty.

My question is, what’s the reliability of the Oracles today? I’m now stationed in Korea again, and don’t want to go through months of back and forth again with quality issues. I wanted to go with Oracle, BUT instead bought LED markers from Next-gen for $126 compared to $460+ from Oracle. I rather throw away $126. What are tour thoughts on the quality of the marker LEDs of today? Any better? LEDs should last at least one year, no? Thanks! -Chris
