In my 2019 base Stingray, the other day I was REALLY low on gas and as I headed out to get some I noticed that the tach "needle" had disappeared from the tachometer gauge on the dash display. What is even stranger is that the tach in my HUD display was still working correctly. After filling the tank everything was back to normal. Color me puzzled !
Computer glitch. All new cars are computer controlled to a degree. A good friend of mine who is a computer specialist says that 90% of all computer glitches can be fixed by re-booting. When you stopped for gas and turned off your engine, re-starting your car re-booted the computers and voila, fixed.
You have a new car so I wouldn't suspect the battery, which can cause all sorts of unusual reactions. But check it out anyway. You should be running about 13.0 or less on the battery if you have been driving it for 30 minutes or so.
As I was leaving for work today with the radio playing, I hit the +volume toggle on the wheel. Usually after a few seconds the volume level display goes away and the tach display comes back. But this time it didn't, just stayed showing the volume. I toggled the volume controls again, and after a few seconds it did go back to the tach display. So yeah, goofiness happens! Sometimes the temperature display on the **** won't show up. At the next restart, all fine!
