VIR Track Day!
When: MONDAY November 16th, 8:30am - 5:30pm
Structure: 2 run groups before lunch (4 * 30-minute sessions), 4+ hours of OPEN TRACK for all after lunch
Where: VIR Full Course, Alton Virginia ( http://www.virnow.com )
Who: All fun-loving track junkies with a track-worthy car (coupes, sedans, wagons, and convertibles with a roll bar) and an SA2010/M2010 or newer rated helmet
Price: $595
The track will be hot from 8:30am - 5:30pm with the exception of one hour for a lunch break for the flaggers. The event will include all flaggers, track marshal, ambulance, tow/wrecker, facilities, and a catered lunch.
I am asking that all participants have some track experience, as there will be no official instructors...however, there will be other participants available to take you around the course to familiarize you with the VIR Full layout. I've done a track rental in the past, and it has definitely been the most fun I've had on track. The amount of time on track is incredible, and there is no pressure with being on time for your run group, etc. It's a completely fun, friendly, relaxed environment...of course with all the thrills of the VIR Full course.
There will be a mandatory safety meeting at 7:45am, and a mandatory driver's meeting at the end of lunch break at 12:45pm to discuss all safety guidelines, track flow, do's and dont's, and driver concerns.
This event is open to anyone with track experience, and a track-worthy car and helmet, so please pass this on to anyone you know that might be interested.
Please keep in mind - as with any other group that hosts track events (PCA, SCCA, NASA, TrackDaze, Chin, and more)...if your car dumps fluid or anything on the track that requires cleanup, you will be charged by VIR for the cleanup.
On the flip side - if you damage a tire wall, guard rail, or do any sort of damage to the track facilities, that IS covered by a mandatory insurance policy that is included in the price-per-person. If you wish to get track day insurance for your own car, that can be done on your own through a company such as Hagerty's, Lockton, Opentrack, etc.
That's about it. Feel free to email me with any questions. Hope to see you there!

Melting Slicks
Sounds like a lot of fun, but an 8-hour drive for me. Would have to arrive the night before, and leave the day after, so that's 2 nights in a hotel. Then there's food, gas, changing the brake fluid and pads, and . . . . .
Man, it sounds like a lot of fun, though!

Do you know if masks are required at VIR? Asking because I won't spend money anywhere that requires one. Thanks.

Bump for date change! We have moved the event to Monday November 16th to better accommodate the out-of-towners. As mentioned above - there is an on-site hotel...2 double beds and a jacuzzi tub...with plenty of rooms available. Come in Sunday evening and stay until Tuesday if you wish.
I believe that VIR has a "loose" mask rule. Wear a mask when you are in VIR buildings, and in congregated large groups in the paddock, otherwise you can do whatever you want.

The person who is putting together the invite website (with registration and payment info) is taking some extra time. I'm sorry for the delay - but I will post the link as soon as the site is live. There will be room for any and all interested in the event!

First post updated with registration link. Don't let the track time requirement scare you off...if you haven't been on VIR Full course before, ride with me for a few laps and then hop in your own car and take her easy...you'll be good to go.
