Default Interior panels

I'm going to replace the drivers door pillar and the passenger side wheel house trim panel because (a) the seat belt got caught and screwed up the door, and my golf bats marked up the trim in back. Yeah, it's completely my fault.

Anyway. I looked on Suburban Chevy's Trunk monkey parts site, found the parts. No big deal... About $55 each... Fair enough, go to check out and they wanted $125 for shipping..lol Say what? Yeah, $110 for the parts and $125 shipping total, $235..lol

Ok, I took the car in for an oil and filter service at loca Chevy dealer, (yes they have a Corvette tech...) , (Lt1 Z51 dry sump $125...) and asked the parts guys about those parts while I was waiting... $65ish each plus tax... Man that shipping must really be expensive from Oregon...lol

Anyway, ordered the parts from local dealer.

Ran into the same issue when replacing my drivers side lock pillar panel because the seat belt had scratched the plastic. Cheaper to just order from the dealer and not pay any shipping.
Have fun ripping those panels out!

I also found it was cheaper for me to buy from my local dealership because of the shipping costs involved with online orders.

Replacing that lock pillar panel is quite a job. Once you get the seat belt free it is still a bear to get the panel loose.

Always pays to check around for pricing. The difference in cost between the two you mention is insane.

Thanks for the heads-up! Yeah, it's nuts how much shipping can add to the cost.

Is the panel easy to replace? My driver side door trim panel is looking pretty beat up from +5 years of the seat belt hitting it.

Its not too bad to replace, its just that face you make every time you grab a panel and start yanking on it to get it loose. You are just cringing at the thought of busting clips, breaking plastic but in actuality, everything popped free nicely.
YouTube video in my link that details all the steps to replace the panel. You basically have to start back with the left rear wheelhouse panel and work your way forward to get the drivers side lock pillar panel out, including the interior halo panel.
Have fun!

I was going to use that video...

on another note. I ordered a poverty splitter from Suburban, and the shipping was a reasonable $20 or so.. no idea why these parts would be ridiculous....

Anyway, since I have to Basically take both sides apart, it’s a great opportunity to de squeak the panels with self adhesive felt in strategic areas...

That’s crazy about the splitter. I was gonna send mine (replaced by Stg 2) to a guy that needed one. Was gonna cost me over 100 bucks to ship it. It’s the size and shape that kills ya.
I wish I had done the de squeak felt deal when I did mine. The halo panel squeaks EVERY DAMN DAY!
where are you sourcing the adhesive felt?
