I have a 2018 Carbon 65 GS coupe but have never driven it with the top off. Is the wind buffering bad ?
My experience is around town at 45 mph and below its tolerable. Highway speeds...dont plan to talk to the person sitting in the passenger seat! I've talked to a couple guys that put the glass partition to separate the front from the rear cargo area and they say it helps a lot! Good Luck!

I suspect those that have had buffeting issues were driving with the top off but windows up.
I have driven many times with the roof off, but the windows down, and have not experienced any buffeting even at speeds above 65 mph.
It looks great with or without the top, so from an appearance standpoint, it's a winner. But as a practical matter, it's a loser to me. A pain to take off or put on, very noisy when off on the freeway, and takes up most of the cargo space when off. I just leave it on now after playing with it. My C6 wasn't any better.
I also have a Mercedes SL55 AMG, and it's a hardtop convertible with 493 hp that opens and closes with the push of a button, plus it is very quiet and comfortable with the top down even on the freeway at more than the speed limit, suitable for an Autobahn runner.
So a more practical design is possible, but at a cost and weight disadvantage not desirable for a Corvette. JMHO.
There's definitely more buffeting with the side windows up - usually when my top's off, I've got the windows down as well and the wind's not too bad below 120mph.
Got lots of miles with top off of Corvettes over the last 30 years: C4, C6, C7..... at highway speeds. As other have mentioned, roll down the windows.....
I had to laugh at the comment about a pain taking the top off and putting it back on. I'm 79 and don't see the problem.
When you reinstall the top after your test cruise, make sure it is properly reseated and locked down. Joining the Flying Top Club is not a badge of honor.

My Windrestrictor (the glass one) has really made a difference for me. Around town with windows down hardly a wiff of a breeze. On the highway with the top off and stowed and the windows down it is not a problem to carry on a conversation or hear the radio or use the phone. Some wind, yes, but much, much improved over same scenarios without the restrictor.
