7sp-Manual vs 8-sp-AT for Z51
I'm looking for a C7 Z51 in Long Beach red, but having hard time finding with manual tranny & chrome wheels. Should I just get the AT or stick to my guns and get manual and replace black wheels later?
Is the 7sp- manual really worth not getting the chrome wheels? I'm 60 and this will be my first and last vette?

If you really want a manual don't compromise. I've always had manuals for my fun cars - Rx7, C6, C7Z51, and C7 GS.
You have a very good choice of colors! (and I'm older than you are)

2016 Torch red Z51, 2LT , M7 and 7300 miles and a
2016 Long Beach Red Z51,2LT, A8 no mileage posted.
Both cars have chrome wheels and are listed for 49,995.00 I haven't been looking at prices so I can't help if that's a fair price or not. I saw Torch Red one two days ago as I drove by dealer. Here is dealer info if your interested. Cappellino Cadillac , Williamsville N.Y. - 1 (855) 369-1043 or www.cappellinocadillac.com

You just answered your own question
"First and last Vette"; why would you compromise on something as fundamental as the tranny? Wheels, as you stated, can be replaced... Nuff said, go get that seven speed!

I looked nationwide for about 3 months for a '17 blade silver, GS 1LT convertable with adrenaline red and M7. Finally found everything I wanted in Indianapolis except it had a A8. Most all the Corvettes I've owned the years have been manuals, my daily driver was a manual but I settled for the A8 auto. And am very pleased with it. I've have had no problem, shifts like lightening and nice to get a break for the right leg in traffic.

It depends on where you are and how much you can spend. I’ll be selling my 16 LBR Z51, 2lt, 7 speed when I order the C8. (Whenever they start taking orders...) sorry it’s got the black, machined face wheels. (Which look great...lol)

Wait for the M7 if this will be the first and only Vette don't compromise.
Besides, only around 25% of all C7s were manual trans car. Rare?? Who knows.
I love mine and took it to Connecticut in July to visit family and friends.
Going north on I-95 is always a fun experience. Going with a M7 was
actually enjoyable.

Get the M7- you can always change the wheels, but you will be stuck with the transmission—FOREVER!

Dilly59, Probably sorry not getting a manual 7-speed if that is your initial wish.
You can buy chrome from House-of-Wheels out of Florida, for about $1500. I did.
I would love to drive a 7-speed but not all the time. I have the A8.
Z06 wheels on my 2017 Grand Sport, just bought AS3-Plus tires.

I got the manual when I found my 2015. I wouldnt trade it. Its more fun to drive, for me.. The A8 may be faster and get better fuel economy it you are concerned about that. I'm 68 and the manual in traffic doesnt bother me

Definitely don’t compromise on the transmission. One can always get different wheels. Getting an auto and regretting sucks 😏

I went out looking for an auto and ran into M7 that had most of what I wanted. It was 6 years since I last drove a stick.. so I said F it and went to take a test drive.
I was a little rusty but I forgot the fun it was to row and feel more in control. In the end I didnt get that car because it had issues and the seller would not budge with all the issues so I looked around and found another one on Vroom.com.

Get the M7 if that's what you really want. People sell the chrome factory rims on here all the time. I searched almost 8 months for mine and Love it !!! Good luck with your search.
