Always. Got crushed once by being careless. Made a vow to never let it happen again. The quick jack is a secure device but I feel better with the extra security.
The QJ5000 works on everything I have. 17 Vette, 09 Solstice, 13 Ford Flex, 17 Mazda Cx5, 05 Nissan 350z.
I purchased the 7000. I also have a 2016 Tundra but I still would have spent the few xtra bucks even if I didn't for the xtra girth and in case I did buy a larger vehicle down the road. You get the idea ?

I have a set of Race Ramps that I turn around and place under the front tires when I am doing an oil & filter change. I have faith in the QuickJack, but you can never be too cautious.
I do it all the time. Just like when I remove the wheel to work on the brakes/suspension I shove the wheel under the car just in case. It takes 2 minutes and it doesn't hurt.
You're not really using both, the car is either on the stands or on the quickjack. I'd think jack stands are more secure, so using the quickjack to lift the car and setting it down on the jack stands is likely best. Doesn't hurt to keep the quickjack up just in case though.
