I ordered a few items from EOS last week and they went out in 4 separate boxes. All boxes were picked up and scanned in at the same time. I followed the tracking with utter bewilderment as each box went different routes and/or times. I received one box Monday, one box Tuesday, one box today (Wednesday). Still waiting on one, expect it tomorrow (was shown as expected delivery today but didn’t show). Anyone else experience anything similar?

Shippers route packages in whatever way is the least expensive for them and to maximize profits. They will remove boxes from one shipment to make room for more expensive expedited packages, ship smaller or larger package later or earlier, leave packages sit in a terminal until there is room, etc.
Logistics is not intuitive and often does not make sense from the outside.
Happened with my wheels. All scanned at the same time, and even arrived at the local distribution center at the same time.... then one was delivered. A couple days later, another one. Last two kept showing as in transit. Called, wouldn't talk to me, had to have shipper call and open a case. I then called with case number, and told they didn't have a forwarding address. A couple days later, one more arrived (clearly labeled). Kept watching the last one, finally another few days, and it arrived.
I was told, larger parcels will get put into a pile, and grabbed as they fit on the truck. This was also during Covid shut downs so was also told they were ahort handed.
I have noticed the same thing, thus try to avoid FedEx whenever possible. Have had MUCH better service with UPS and USPS.
I do the same. I find that packages delivered by FedEx Ground ( green EX on the trucks) are the ones that have issues. If I have a package coming through the ground facility, if it’s delivered within a day of the day it’s supposed to arrive I consider it on time. If a package is coming via regular FedEx ( orange EX) it shows up as promised. I was told by a retired FedEx pilot that FedEx Ground drivers are contractors and not FedEx employees.

Interesting our experiences with these two carriers are completely different. I have had great luck with FedEx and absolutely screwed by UPS twice. I will never use UPS again.
FedEx is getting wacky, alright. A couple weeks ago I was due for a shipment and I was waiting for it so I could get the package inside and then leave for a trip. But it never got updated to be on the truck for delivery, like it had never left the depot. Then out of nowhere all of a sudden the status updated as "delivered". So I went outside to the stoop to find that it wasn't really delivered. So I called to see what was going on and they started a trace. 30 minutes later the truck drives up and leaves it. Apparently they were updating entire blocks of shipments as delivered and then running the blocks and dropping them off. Sheesh.

I expect their quality of service may vary regionally.
I collect antique Winchester rifles and have gotten to the point where I tell dealers and other collectors I purchase from to cancel my order if they insist on shipping via FedEx. I just won't take on the risk, when I have had no issues with either UPS
or USPS.
How do you pack them for shipment so they are well protected? Just a curious.
A treated soft sleeve, a hard case and the shipping box. I'm shipping a model 1886 out to Wyoming latter today so already have everything laid out for packing.
Just received my 4th and last package of this shipment. I will have to say, that all boxes arrived in great shape.
I REALLY hate saying anything negative about FedEx since they: are headquartered in my "back yard"; the largest employer locally; employ family members, but...… .
LOL... and here I am again waiting on FedEx. This time my item was updated early this morning as being out for delivery... but still not yet delivered as of 6:00 PM. It's getting late. Will they come or won't they. LOL? Oh well, at least it it isn't critical this time.
FedEx is totally in the crapper. Worst courier service in the entire world at the moment. Their NC hub has thousands of complaints and been all over the news.
LOL... Yes, it was FedEx Ground. My delivery status went from "out for delivery" to "pending" so I gave up and went to bed. Woke up the next morning to find my package on the stoop. Being a relatively high value item it was a good thing it wasn't stolen.
