I pick up my new to me C7 on Wednesday. One item I want are black mirrors or carbon flash ones. Short of buying new ones how hard is it to cover in vinyl?
If you have no experience with vinyl it is very difficult. You would need at least six pieces to keep trying until you get it some what acceptable. Easier to let a shop do it and save the aggravation.

Buy extra if you DIY. Curvature part are a PITA to wrap.
Depends on whether you are going to keep this car or sell it along the way. Wrap if you are probably going to sell it and paint if this will be your keeper.
Not the best lighting since I could not get a photo outside this evening. But these mirrors are wrapped with a 3M film that is close to the GM carbon flash. Picture does not show how well it really came out. Matches the carbon flash side skirts. I had Rehab Detailing in Cleveland, OH do the wrap. Very pleased with the results. No issues all summer. Also, they did not have to remove the mirrors to perform the wrap. Which I was very happy about, I really hate removing door panels, they never seem to go back on quite right.
