Jumped in the car today, started it up, and saw a "theft attempted" notice on the dash. Curious what kind of events trigger this notice? Car has been sitting outside for about a week, so will be very hard to look back at the cameras to see if anyone has touched it, but wondering how sensitive the car is.
Have there been strong winds in the area? Shaking the card may trigger this. When I put my Cadillac on a ferry the roll of the ship also triggers the alarm and that warning comes up.
Did the alarm sound different when you opened it up should have beeped different ? While I have not seen a loud exhaust set it off, I know that if I am aggressively buffing that will ...or reaching in when windows are down will result in an alarm via motion sensor...beyond that anyone’s guess.
Did anything fall inside the car? IE: a receipt tucked under the sun visor? The interior sensor will pick up stuff like that. The sensor is located in the rear view mirror housing so objects close to it get noticed quickly. For example I've had my sunshade move enough to trigger it. As mentioned if the car rocks up or down the motion sensor will go off. I think the horn will beep 3 times when entering to alert you to this.
Interesting. Alarm hasn’t gone off, and now I don’t remember if it beeped when I opened the door. The remote start wasn’t working for some reason. I do have a sun shade which could have moved as it does rest against the rear view mirror. But strange that this is the first time I’ve noticed it. Only difference is car is parked on the street vs the driveway. Thanks for the input.

It's your sunshade. I kept getting that message when I first bought the car. I park near an active runway and when the fighter jets take off in afterburner everything vibrates. I learned to turn off the motion sensor before I lock up.

i don’t believe I’ve ever seen an option for motion sensors. Is that on the dash or infotainment?
That button is next to the hatch button. I have to remember to hit that button whenever I leave my wife in the car and run into a store. She's never pleased when i come out and the horn is blaring.

you leave her in the car, engine off and doors locked? That’s weird.

The remote start won't work if there has been a "theft attempt", or if the hood is left up, or if you trigger the three beeps when leaving, or if the doors are (still) unlocked, or if you've already started it twice w/o an in-seat start, or... I forgot the other scenarios, but there are a couple more.

if the check engine light is on you can't remote start it either

It has happened to me several times. Wife is in car, I run in the store and the alarm starts howling. Car is off, doors lock automatically. The first time this happened I was left in the car behind the wheel. I was in a crowded parking lot. I thought it was the car in front of me. It stopped and did it again 3 times. I’m thinking what a jerk ,what is he doing. I try to remember to shut it off now.
