Default Winter Storage

Has anyone experienced "flat spots" on tires after storing your Vette for the winter (November -March)? Any suggestions other than removing the rims and tires to avoid flat spots?

Thanks

Radials are pretty resistant to flat spots. Any that you do get will disappear in a few miles of driving.

I have not noticed any flat spots on my tires ( 2019 GS ) the last 2 years. I have 3 layers of carpet between the tires and the concrete.

No problem with flat spots, increase your tire psi around 5 psi to 35 psi for Winter storage.

I experienced flat spots on my C5 tires, but my garage floor gets pretty cold at times. When I don't intend to drive for a while in the winter I use Race Ramp Flat Stoppers.

if you want go buy a sheet of that blue insulation board ,and cut four pieces two ft. by two ft. and put them in front of your tires and drive on top of them where you are storing the car!

Not an issue at all. I do put an extra 5 psi in my tires but that's about it.

I left my Mustang sitting for 4-5 months with Conti Extreme Contact Sport tires and it had EXTREME flat spots. New tires and concrete floor. Just sayin.

Only flat-Earthers get flat spots. If anybody is seriously concerned about flat spotting of their tires then take a look at these Race Ramp cribs. They're perfect for that. They're also great to have around for lifting your vehicle. I use them every time I do an oil change. They are safer than using jack stands.

My Z06 sits on Merrick 16x16 Dollies over the winter.

Reduces the potential for critters getting in and I can put the car about .5 inch from the garage wall

Any flat spots produced by modern radial tires setting will be gone after driving a block or two. Now old bias-ply tires are a different story as they will develop permanent flat spots from setting.
No need to take special precautions with modern tires.

I've stored my C3 and C5 in my concrete floored garage for 3-4 months each winter for 15 years each...gets down to minus 20C (don't know what that is in F, but it's freezing)...kept the tires at their factory levels, parked the car directly on the concrete, and never had an issue with flat spots or anything else, ever. My 2019 C7 has only gone through one winter, but did the same with it.

I've stored my fun cars every winter for 20+ years, and never had a problem with flat spots.
