I have 14,000 miles on my 2017 Grand Sport. The cord is showing on the inside edge of both of my rear tires. Is this normal life on the tires? Discount tire is also saying that new tires are at least 8 weeks out on back order. We have looked for 7 different tires including the Michelin pilot sport 4s. Any advise on rear wheel alignment or tire replacement options and sources would be greatly appreciated.
I don't own a GS, I have a Z51. When I replaced the tires at 11K miles (they were not worn out, just found a good deal on a set of chrome wheels and tires) the wear on the rear was flat across both tires. I was surprised as I expected the inside tread wear to be greater than the outside but it wasn't. It was dead flat.
I had my '19 GS's alignment done at 500 miles. I am pretty sure the GS's and Z 06's come set up for track use from the factory. Others here will chime in.

Definitely get an alignment, that's a known issue. You tend to wear out the inside edge of the tires if you don't. I've had a set of Michelin AS3+'s on mine for about 21k and there's still a ton of life left and I'm not gentle on them either. Recommend them for sure, as far as where they're in stock, I don't know. In short, get an alignment and they'll last much longer.
Also you only (last time I looked) have 4 tire choices, Sport cup 2's, Pilot Sports, AS3+'s and Continental extreme's. There is a Michelin snow tire but I don't count that lol.

You're about normal with the factory alignment - I got around 17K before my GS tires showed chord. I had a street alignment done when I switched to Michelin AS3+ tires.
I just passed 19000 on my 2017 GS, have a little more to go on my originals. Will be getting new shoes in spring. I did have early alignment plus another layer when the did the steering recall.

Mine had the same wear around 14k miles.Cords on the inside rears.Another engineering marvel by GM.Welcome to the C7.
Poor alignment and wheels.Thanks GM
I believe Michelin and GM figured this one out together.Let's sell some tires!!
You have my blessing that when you have your new tires mounted the rims won't be bent.
I had the double trouble. That was a great day.Stuck at a tire shop with bent wheels and new tires. Thanks Again.GM
Remembering when I went to the dealer about my bent rims and worn tires.Dealer aligned my rears.
Their settings aren't to precise.I showed them photo's of my rear tires. They gave me a bill with before and after alignments. They didn't change the rear and explained it was within GM'S Settings that show green on your paperwork given. You have to go to a independent shop that will give you a more precise alignment.Make sure they have the Caster tool for the rear. Most shops don't.Good luck took me a while to find the right shop.
Really sounds like s camber issue (unless you somehow carry an extraordinary amount of weight in the trunk / hatch area). There is also a possibility that the tires are toed out resulting in what looks like a camber issue. An alignment check from a shop versed in Corvette alignments should be able to determine the cause of the abnormal wear and correct it. As far as tires are concerned GM is promoting a tire price match guarantee through the end of November on a number of the most popular Corvette recommended brands (Michelin included). They just matched Discount’s pricing on my C7 and installed tires without a single mar on my black rims, and included a road force balance and a complimentary alignment check as part of the deal. Good luck.
In my post #12, I neglected to mention the reason sent to my Chevy dealer in the first place for the tires was because Tire Rack and Discount did not have them in stock. Apparently GM either has larger warehouses to draw from or they have more pull with tire manufactures. They were able to source them overnight for me.
I have same problem and was advised to seek Sport Car expert to discuss setup for new allignment also can't find tires for back got two for front -out 6weeks -does anyone have suggestion for expert alignment
