No idea why they don't rebuild 6.2 engines. Perhaps you should have asked them why. Check with other machine shops to see what they say.

You may have to buy individual parts as needed for your job, and not a "kit." 
Such parts are available. It sounds like the shop doesn't want to bother with it to me.
