Default Tires

What are the best replacement tires for a 2018 stingray convertible.
I would like the run flats. More for daily driving.
if I stayed away from run flats what do you suggest. I live in NW Ohio. On cooler days the summer only tires lose grip. And they don’t seem to be very good in heavy rain. I am new to the corvette world so excuse me for lack of knowledge or good info. Thanks.

Depends on how you use the car and if you want run flat or not. Please provide more details and people can make recommendations.

Not many options for run flats.
Michelin All Season.
Bridgestone has new Run Flat Potenza Summer Performance Tire.
Michelin Pilot Super Sports are not available currently. Maybe discontinued.

I have the Michelin PS A/S 3+ ZPs on my car and like them a lot. Worth considering at least.

Great for daily and cold weather driving. If you’re not seeking track performance, they are the perfect tire.

I agree. And they are not discontinued. They are on back order. I'm waiting for mine to arrive for my 2017 GS. I had them on my 2014 Base 3LT and I loved them.

I used Continental Extreme Contact in size 275/35-19 as rain tires for my recently departed 2014 Mustang GT track car. For warmer weather they are very good in the rain and as the track dried out they were pretty good in the dry. Very easy to drive at the limit. For the few times I drove them on the street, I found them to be smooth, quiet and easy to drive on. These were non runflat tires. I would have used these except I am in CT and expect to drive in cold weather. One caution, I found these to flat spot over the winter and recommend rolling the car back and forth every few weeks or taking some other measure. In my opinion, great tires as lesser cost. And I have used MPSS, Pirelli P Zero, and Nitto NT01 on that car both street and track. And they do not pick up a million stones like the MPSS.
Slightly less less grip in the dry than MPSS but meaningless for street use.

The Michelin AS 3+ are great tires also. I chose non runflat for a better ride.

Default Stay away from run flat tires.

Stay away from the run flat tires. They suck in wet weather and over all performance. Yes the only good thing is if you get a flat and that is it. The non run flat tires are much quieter and hug the road much better. Go to discount tire and they can make very good suggestions on all season tires and some ultra performance all season tires. Continental's , Yokohama, Nitto and Michelin are the top tier in my book. Good luck with your search.

I use the same and live in NW Ohio.
This is my first season with these tires and I plan on driving the Vette until the snow shows up. I won't be worrying about the cold affecting the tires.

I just had the Michelin A/S 3+ tires put on my 2015 Z06 a couple months ago. I did one track day with them and they performed better than I expected. They had better grip than the 5 year old Pilot Super Sports that I took off (because the rubber was getting older).

Default Tires

The first thing I did to my new 2019 Corvette GS was to change the tires from those summer only Michelin Super sports and put on a set of Michelin Sport AS3+ all weather tires. I sold the super sports to help defray the cost of the new tires. Im very happy with these tires. They handle great, are quieter than the super sports, are run flat, dont have to be warmed up to 40 degrees and are all weather rated. Im not a track kinda guy so when I had the tires swapped I also had the alignment and camber set for daily street driving (an important item to get done). Youll love these tires.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for reaching out to Michelin. I am not sure which tire you are referring to so I will advise on all tire recommended for this vehicle.

Pilot Sport A/S 3+
This is available and active production

Pilot Super Sport
This is also available and active production

Pilot Sport Cup 2
This tire just started production November 2020. Not sure when these would be ready but I assume around December 2020

I hope this information is helpful.
