Default Dash question?

Hello everyone!
I have a quick question. On the C7 dash in track mode they have these ***** that are supposed to tell you when to shift I'm thinking? My question is I've seen these light up maybe 3 times in owning my car. How do these work and when do they light up? I keep my car in tour mode always and have the exhaust set on track. Do you have to have the car in a certain mode, or do they light up thinking you are going to get on it. It's a grand sport 19.
Thanks, will

Are you referring to the HUD? I keep my HUD locked in track mode and the shift lights are always there.

Yes, I'm referring to the shift lights. I don't understand how those work. I've owned the car for a year. I've only seen those shift lights light up 3 times. How do you get those shift lights to light every time I drive? It's a manual!
Thanks.

Yes the track display (both on the dash and the HUD) has shift lights that appear as little dots to mimic a real race car setup. The lights get closer to the middle (coming together) and change color as you get near red line.

If you have your HUD locked to track the shift lights are there. You just need to get close to redline.

Awesome, I appreciate all the feedback. So I take it to get the use out of those shift lights you need to get close to higher RPMs or redline for them to activate.
Thanks

You're probably noticing them when your cars engine is cold. You'll notice on a cold start that the redline is marked lower on the digital read out and will raise to the real redline as the car warms up. But...when it's cold, the lights come on quicker, then you have to work for it when the car is warm

Hello, that's awesome you mentioned that. Now that I am thinking about it. Every time it has happened was when the car was just started and it was still in the warm up period.

Thanks,
